1. Part of me wants to be really snarky but I guess Nancy has softened
And she has been supportive of the stem cell research. Even with Reagan having gotten Alzheimers she didn't have to do anything after the fact. Certainly Alzheimers hits Republican as much as Democratic families.

4. Hates McSame too.
But there's nothing that can wash out the bad taste in my mouth. The epitome of manipulative, greedy ambition. Evil woman.

9. I used to feel that way. But then I changed my mind. Remember back....
Remember when she had a mastectomy after getting breast cancer? I began to change my mind about her around that time. She boldly spoke about it, incl. her decision not to get reconstruction. She was criticized by NOW and other women's groups (I never understood their logic). During an interview, she seemed baffled by their criticism, when asked about it. She said something like, "I don't understand why women's rights groups would criticize my decision to speak about it and not get reconstructive surgery. That was my decision. Isn't that what women's rights is all about?"

She was right.

Later, I realized that "Ronnie" had begun to exhibit his alzheimers symptoms during his second term. She started answering questions for him, when he'd lose his train of thought and such.

She was truly her own woman, and apolitical. She was all about her devotion to her husband. Nothing wrong with that. And she stood up to some very strong GOP suits who were trying to control "Ronnie." No telling what they would've gotten him into, besides Iran Contra, if she hadn't intervened.

And she also is devoted to her youngest son, Ronnie, who is an Independent and liberal in some of his views. She apparently is apolitical.

She's a great broad. I totally changed my opinion of years ago.

12. Ronnie Reagan is one excellent radio talk show host. He should replace Moron Joe in the morning ...
and take Stephanie Miller along as his second in command. :-)

14. He used to be a guest on MSNBC. I wonder why he isn't anymore? Has he ever
said anything about that, on his radio show?

What station does he air on? Is it Air America? (I don't get that here.)

16. I don't know his past history with MSNBC. I do know that he's on
WCPT during the evenings. He's recently been on vacation.

His boss (sponsor) is Air America Radio.

Dumbya?

15. The only reason I care is because things affected me personally

If I wasn't in love with someone who didn't have Healthcare because they got laid off 3 years ago, I wouldn't care as much about Healthcare. We are no longer together but it hurt me she was in that situation and short of an elopement there was nothing I could do.

If my brother wasn't autistic, I wouldn't care as much about people with disabilities

If I didn't see the inner workings of the Financial Service industry regulation wouldn't be that important to me.

If I didn't watch my Father be thrown away after 33 years of work at a company, reform to our corporate structure wouldn't be that important to me

If I didn't have gay friends, gay marriage wouldn't be that important to me.

Not to defend her too much, but I think that statement is true for anyone.

10. A touching photo. (Literally...Michelle touching the back of the older woman again!)
Just kidding! But I noticed...hey, she's touching the back of the more senior woman again, just like with Queen Elizabeth! Nothin' wrong with that. She's a warm person.

A touching, lovely photo. Nancy's eyes are STILL as large and pretty as years ago! And I don't think she's had any cosmetic surgery! It's not fair!

19. thoughtful little touch
don't like Michelle's outfit, though: either the cardigan or the top, but not both! (even though red is Nancy's favorite color).

18. That pic is cute. Nancy went way up in my eyes for her support of stem cell research
She seems to be a decent lady and never ever liked Barbara Bush. Ick. How did she put up with the Bush family all those years?

Nancy seems to be much more warmer with the Obamas than any of the Republicans.

25. I just noticed the image in the mirror
It looks like the wall which the First ladies are facing has really bad cracks in it. Or is the mirror cracked? That's kind of strange, either way.
