Dategate?
RNC takes aim at Obamas for date night

I'll keep this short. For flying to New York and having some dinner and maybe a show, the RNC has decided to make it a political issue...

You couldn't make it up.

<...>

Edit: More from Politico

The Republican National Committee slammed the outing in an "RNC Research Piece":

The RNC's Gail Gitcho added: "If President Obama wants to go to the theater, isn’t the Presidential box at the Kennedy Center good enough?”

1. Fuck the Republicans
They are in the whiny, crybaby minority.

I'm so sick of weight being given to idiot bombthrowers on the right (Newt, Rush, Coulter, Hanity......)

Fuck em.

U forget how many people are required everytime the POTUS moves. That is an expensive Date Night. He's gonna get killed for this in the media. I wonder why they decided to do this.

21. Oh please!!
I wish I had a nickel for everytime I heard "he's gonna get killed for this in the media" whenever he does something.

The man is sitting at 65% approval rating. I guess you can always hold out hope that he'll eventually take the beating the media keeps predicting but I seriously doubt it's going to come from this.

9. How desperate have things gotten for these morans
I have to admit when I read the OP, that last quote.... somehow knowing it was a quote from someone in the RNC I mistakenly read it as: "If President Obama wants to go to the theater, isn't the Presidential Box at the Ford Theatre good enough?"

argh. wouldn't put it past them

Prosense, they just have nothing better to do. Just when one thinks they can't act more selfish or childish...they come up with the idea to 'whine' about the Obamas going out for the evening. I mean REALLY... :7

27. Well, if you look at it from a Rethugs point of view, it makes sense
Family values is a soundbite, NOT a lifestyle.

A sound relationship requires work and effort. To your typical republican, this is completely incomprehensible. The ONLY relationship a republican is willing to work that hard on is with their money. To them, other humans are easily replaceable. One spouse doesn't work out, not an issue - with enough money, one spouse is easily replaced with the next younger, 'hotter' model.

Simple really. You just have to remember that to a typical Republican money matters more than people.

I suppose watching the President of the United States regularly schedule time to spend with his wife just blows their little lie to the other half that their own job is too important to take time away from to spend with their own wives/husbands.

All around, it's making them look like the inconsiderate money hungry assholes they really are. With that in mind, I can understand why they're objecting so strenuously.
