Romney's schedule hints at run in 2012
Ask Mitt Romney about his presidential ambitions, and he artfully demurs. But his schedule keeps looking like that of someone who has his eyes on 2012.

The former Massachusetts governor, who sought the GOP nomination last year, was the keynote speaker last night at the Virginia Republican Party's big Commonwealth Gala dinner in Richmond, his latest appearance before the party faithful.

Tomorrow, Romney is scheduled to make his latest appearance on a political talk show, on "Fox News Sunday."

And on Monday morning, he is scheduled to give a major policy speech on national security at the high-profile Heritage Foundation in Washington, his latest venture into critiquing President Obama.

Romney's speech, titled "The Care of Freedom," will assess the Obama administration's response to North Korea's nuclear and missile tests "and America's larger leadership role in the world," the foundation said.

26. $$$$
Romney's big advantage is that money will POUR in from the business community and he will be packaged as the "pro business" candidate

A Va. Dem insider told me that Romney was McCain's only chance of winning mostly due to the money that he would generate. McCain pulling out of Michigan was due to lack of funds (I suspect the RNC left him high-and-dry like they did Dole in '96)

That being said-Mitt being a 3rd generation CEO silverspoon guy is not going to sell well even 3 years from now

7. I doubt he will win.....
Obama is looking like he's going to be an 8 year president. If Romney does run I don't think he'll get far, the most it will accomplish is further solidify the fact that it just wasn't meant to be.

10. Unless Obama really does pisspoor and screws things up
Romney is going to go down in flames. I am kind of doubting he'll make it out of the primary. The righties won't let the Republican nominee be a Mormon.

12. This makes me happy
Nothing like watching a former corporate raider wasting his money on a fruitless endeavor to become President

I can't wait to see his fellow thugs stab him over and over again on the stage.

Huckabee and McCain seemed to take a particular thrill in doing it. Can't wait to see how much fun Newt has with him

Obama vs. Mittens is like me picking a fight with Mike Tyson.

15. This is tooooooooooo funny

Romney's one and only 'card' to play is that he was the only candidate in the 'also rans' who might be able to get a purple or blue state to go red.

Well his stock is so low in MA that he is moving from there to NH, which will have some help in primaries but do nothing for the GE. His big claim was that he would be able to bring Michigan because of his family ties there. His gratuitous criticisms of the auto bail out has lost him that state by a landslide.

Its rather obvious but he will run in 2012 so that he can run again in 2016 and he is counting on everything being fixed up by the Democrats so that he can go back and complain about taxes without having to actually contribute anything meaningful to fixing the country.

17. There is, let us be frank, just a teensy HINT of a chance that Mitt Romney
wants to be president.

The itsiest, bitsiest, feintist, slither of a chance.

He feels that if it hadn't been for Huckabee he would have been the nominee. He still thinks that he has unfinished business and he more than has the money to finance another campaign.

25. "Who let the dogs out?" Haha.
The only almost (almost) likable thing about McCain was his contempt for Mitt. I look forward to seeing his campagin implode for a second time. Remember his dropout speech and how he got all crocodile teary about Democrats supporting terrorism or some nonsense?
