Why won't Sotomayor release her birth certificate?
I figure I'll just make a unified field theory of lunacy.

4. Not yet
But watch this space.

On a related note, the Freepers are apoplectic that Robert Gibbs laughed at a journalist who asked about Obama's birth certificate at a WH press conference, as did the other journalists. Proof thet the White House and the librul media are conspiring to suppress THE TRUTH by ridiculing those who dare to seek it, since there's no possibility that the reason people were laughing is that the journalist had just made a colossal fool of himself. It's just like the time I went to that scientific conference and everybody laughed when I brought up the issue of the Earth being 6000 years old and flat. It's a conspiracy I tells ya!

On Freeperville, there had already been talk of one of the short list candidates having been born in Canada as well.

5. I hear the leader of her church is a crazy old Nazi sympathizer...
... who dresses in bizarre outfits, opposes abortion, despises birth control, opposes same sex marriage, and suppresses women's rights.

6. I wouldn't put it past them. Since these ignorant jagoffs probably have no idea
that whether we are born in the island or in the continental US it makes no difference citizenship wise.

11. Is there even a natural born citizen requirement for a Supreme Court justice?
I thought the only thing a naturalized citizen coudln't do that a natural born citizen could was become President.

14. No, you are right
And anyone who has a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the land isn't likely to want to run for president anyway.

15. As far as I know there are no restrictions since we are born
Edited on Mon Jun-01-09 10:08 PM by Guy Whitey Corngood
US citizens, we don't become naturalized. I should say the only restriction I can think of is voting in presidential elections but as soon as one moves to any US state and is a resident voting rights are acquired automatically.

If Sonia knows enough about AMERICAN history, since she's from somewhere else.
