Anderson Cooper on a Roll! He's got the goods on our President!
Making it seem like there were tons of protestors at ND,
and that they "interrupted" Obama during his speech.

Also, Obama's "Base" is leaving him (I find it odd that the media always know what
we are doing, except for when it doesn't suit their needs...like the GOP bullshit re: Pelosi.
Seems like when it comes to that, they don't have a clue that the "base" believes that she is being used to distract from the actual torture that occurred).

So anyways, AC believes that Obama is vunerable now...
just when he's about to name his Justice pick.

Then he has Tony Perkins on to discuss Abortion and Gay Marriage
Looking really happy.

Guess CNN isn't going to concede that they worked very hard to gin up a Protest
that never fully materialized.

Meanwhile, Obama's approval is at 64%, and his disapproval rating went down by 2 points.

3. But he may be....
Edited on Mon May-18-09 09:33 PM by Baby Snooks
As shocking as it seems, not all of his base is on DU. They're not even on the internet. Most are in lines somewhere. Applying for unemployment. Or food stamps. Or housing. Their phones disconnected long ago. Along with their internet connection. Some of course never had phones. Or internet connection. The reality of an America even the liberal progressive Democrats seem hell-bent on ignoring.

They prefer to believe that everyone is doing just fine and dandy. They're not. And the people in all the lines really have given up hope.

And given up on the president who gave them hope.

4. Not shocking at all that his base isn't on DU. If it was he probably
would have never won the nomination. As far as your belief that all the people in soup lines, living in tents, unemployed, lost internet connection etc. giving up on Obama...Bullshit! I know lots of those people. My entire family is now in Nebraska after losing our good jobs in the automotive industry. I have many friends and family members still in Michigan, or moving to other states trying to make a go of things and not one of them has given up on the President. They are fully aware of who fucked the country over and started this mess and it wasn't the current President.

I wonder why you and your buds go from thread to thread posting negative comments? The President is a failure or he doesn't care about anybody? Why don't you go do something about it? Start an impeachment group or look for someone you can support in 2012. I'm in it for the long haul, and I'm not stupid enough to blame my current situation on President Obama.

11. How many people are you speaking for?
In my neck of the woods all that you say could not be farther from the truth, but then I guess my friends and families are a little more cognizant of what has gone on for the last decade. What is it you and all the people you know were expecting?

preach it. The longer he ignores it-the closer to the exits I get. If it goes to 3% drop-I'm one of those.

The closer he gets to WS and following Bush's policies-the stronger my buyers remorse becomes.

He is not following even some of his basic campaign promises....AND I DON'T NEED THE GOP POINTING THEM OUT TO ME EITHER_I REMEMBER THEM AND CAN ACCESS THEM ON YOUTUBE. That is what will cost him his base!

Edited to add: I won't vote GOP, I just won't turn out to vote or man the HQ, block walk etc.

..... or maybe Hannity.

Or Cheney if we're lucky.

The only way Barack loses in 2012 is if he loses the middle ..... and all he's done is sure it up. I can deal with three more years of DU bickering if that's what it'll take.

38. Huh... it's a good thing we're not talking about Gore.
That would just be embarrassing.

"The only way Barack loses in 2012 is if he loses the middle" funny, lots of folks in 2000 blamed Gore's loss on votes for Nader, which were votes from the left, which defected.

Obama brought us back into the fold (and by us, yes, I am saying that I did in fact vote for Nader in 2000)... and he can easily find us walking back out the door.

Take the left of the base for granted at your own risk. Hillary made that mistake, in my opinion, and lost the primaries as a result. Obama is now also seeming to take the left for granted.

I'm a couple of straws shy of voting for Cthulu in '12. Like I did in '96. With rhetoric like that post... you'd better hope that I'm the only one.

Interpret it as you like.. but know that there are some who, if we're not gonna get thrown any bones for our pet peeves/causes... then we're willing to go ahead and let the whole thing burn. If the middle class will sell out Human Rights then I'm fine with watching as the Republicans carve up the middle class and export their jobs overseas.

Be sure that you're willing to deal with the consequences before you advocate selling out the interests of portions of your base.

10. Pres Obama ran on the idea of sthe old culture war of the 60s has
kept this country divided. The Boomers could never do anything
about it. That is when Obama came up with TURN THE Page.

The Media knew this. They keep stoking the flames to keep it
going. Every time a Media person, starts whining about the
the two parties not working together, every DUer either zip out
an Email or use your phone and call the station and remind
them....They are stoking the flames of discord.

14. But there is a method to their madness.
The corporate media has an agenda. They want President Obama to be perceived as a failure so they can get 'their man' in there. Then we can have a war with Iran. There will be no dangerously subversive ideas discussed like single payer healthcare. We won't have to worry about cutting out unnecessary weapons systems the military doesn't need or want. We can go back to the wonderfully productive years of the Bush Administration. IF we can convince TV viewers that President Obama's mind is filled with nonsense and he is sure to be a failure.

18. Glad I did not see that... There is a generalized longing it seems
in certain markets, among groups, to not have the President succeed, because what would they have to talk about?

We had war protests with the hundreds of thousands, and it got a blip on the news.. 400 protesting Obama at a Catholic college... it is 24/7 what will happen, is this the beginning of the end?

~sigh~
