3. oh my!
That bring tears to my eyes. What a beautiful picture and the speech today was wonderful. How can we ever mend our differences if we don't talk to each other? Wow

8. What a thrill it was to see him and know that he
was there for this occasion.
The President of ND is also one brave man to withstand the pressure of the day.
You can tell that he and Obama respect each other a lot.

11. I wish you could have seen the nuns, priests and rabbis and
preachers that banded together for human rights back then. it warmed my heart.

5. What a day this has to be for him. What an acheivement he has realized.
He had an open door policy as university president. I never took advantage of it, but a good friend of mine saw the light on in Father Hesburgh's office one night. He just walked in had a chat with him. He was very approachable and yet such a powerful figure. I thought he looked great today.

10. That's the Catholic Church I remember....
I knew priests like Fr. Hesburgh who stood up and spoke out for those who had no voice.

Unfortunately....much has changed and I no longer recognize the institution as it stands today.
