1. Private insurers will cut 1.5% of costs per year...
Whoopdie Doo. Sounds like a snow-job to me.

3. I just tuned in...did the President mention the Public option?
I'm concerned about that.

12. No, I didnt hear him say anything.
However, here were the list of people he met with right before the announcement.

4. I have that sinking feeling we're being sold down the river on this one.
$2,500 off a $12,000 a year policy is nothing to get all excited about. It still puts healthcare out of reach of the majority of the uninsured. This is like Massachusetts Part Deux and that has not worked.

5. He said all voices should be at the table... (did NOT get specific)
He mentioned his mother's fight for coverage while she was dying...

8. He Should Call Max Baucus
and inform him of that. Let the "single Payer" people sit down at that table instead of arresting them.

9. It was a huge mistake that this was not dealt with in public
Obama needed to deal with Baucus and we ought to know how and what was concluded. but I have the bad feeling that Baucus felt he had a free hand.

7. I thought it was going to be a press conference
We really need to have President Obama answer the tough questions about his announcement.

I worry about pension plans and people with 401k's who are invested in insurance companies. I'm a pensioner myself. But I'm for single payer and this move by the corporations sounds like a plan for foot dragging on their part.

10. This was not about specifics, because the main players
doctors, pharma, ins vowed to curtail spening. You can't expect them to tell you exactly how they are going to do that; they are private entities.

11. Pretty vague - disappointing. He mentioned everyone at the table
but did not mention single payer advocates at all. That doesn't mean they would be excluded or included. Just not mentioned.. I was hoping for more I guess. Did anyone notice this morning on Washington Journal - they were covering questions and conversation about the upcoming weeks business in the senate and congress - but every call from listeners was regarding health insurance. I was watching it between 10 and 11 CST.
