2. The White House would fall apart if the answer was "no."

8. Perhaps people are referring to
the fact that the White House's resources are limited, especially when it comes to the number of issues for which they can sustain a multi-spectrum (media, Congress, public approval, Federal agencies) lobbying campaign.

10. "media, Congress, public approval, Federal agencies"
I almost made a "Does the media control Obama" poll and a "Is the media a threat to our freedom" poll; but somehow those polls seemed unwise.

A "Does Congress and Federal agencies have the ability to multitask" (the grammar seems weird there) poll may be fun.

Last I heard Obama has public approval on his side.

11. I don't believe the media "controls" Obama.
I think he controls them to a greater extent than they control him, but that providing the messaging that will grab airtime can be a deliberate affair. They only have so many prime-time minutes of airtime, after all.

Congress and Federal agencies do have the ability to multitask, obviously. Much as with the White House, it's a matter of how many issues they can handle intelligently, aggressively, and competently at one time. Their resources are limited as well.

Obama does have public approval on his side. He also knows that he is personally more popular than his policies are. That is a great benefit, but he must spend his personal popularity intelligently. If you don't bother courting the public, your approval rating trendline looks like Bush's.

15. I am sorry if I came off as trying to put words in your mouth.
I don't wish to misrepresent anyone's positions, I just like weird polls. The vast majority of your posts on DU are rational, at least in my view.

but he must spend his personal popularity intelligently

This requires a priority list of issues. If gay civil rights are on the top of an individual's list, then now may be an intelligent time to address this issue. Likewise, if the rule of law concerning torture is at the top of an individual's list, then now may be an intelligent time to address this issue. Same for the economy, the environment, and war.

1) He is not a natural born American
2) He is a socialist
3) He is taking away our freedoms

Of course none of those are true, but they are different.

12. He's already doing many, many things at a time
Sadly though, due to the limitations all mere mortals face, he cananot do everything right away.

13. He can multitask, but he can't do it all at once.
Nobody can.

14. Sure he does..
he just doesn't do the tasks everyone wants him to do, when they want him to do it. And, they don't care whether something will pass in Congress or not. They just want him to spin the wheels so they can watch it on tv.
