Redstate to Black Americans: Leave the Democrats, they're holding your children down
Dear American Blacks:

Sometimes the very best act of friendship I could do is tell you that the person you think is your best friend actually works against you behind your back, laughing at you, mocking your hardships, secure in the knowledge that you need him too much to ever leave him.

Sometimes — no, actually always — the true friend is the one who tells you what you don’t want to hear. The one who does not indulge you, the one who will neither promise you nor give you candy and other bennies. Instead he tells you to sit down and eat your green beans and spinach — and if you want that nice car, then quit whining, get an education, earn a good job, and earn that nice car.

The really ironic thing is that the slick, good-time “friend” will tell you what a jerk your true friend is. And you will believe him. You will believe him, that is, until you grow up, or until your good-time friend sells you up the river so far that your life is wrecked, and your future is ruined. Your wisdom will have been gained at a steep price.

But your true friend will still be there. And eating your green beans, securing an education, and working hard are still the path to success.

American Blacks, the Democratic Party is that good-time, lying, back-stabbing excuse for a “friend”. The DC Voucher story is an illustration — hardly a unique story — of how Democrats continually seek to set you up as a permanent underclass, so that you’ll depend on them to throw you scraps and believe their lies, in order to secure your votes to keep them in power.
(snip)
I ask you to consider, why is it that you hate Republicans so much? This DC School Voucher was brought in 2004 by Republicans at the request of a Democratic mayor who desperately cared about the future of DC students. It was killed in 2009 by Democrats for reasons that appear cynical and political.

Republicans do not know how to approach you. Democrats and the Democrat-dominated press have misled you and stoked up your wrath to the point that you will not listen to us.

So I propose this: how about listening? How about listening to what Republicans have to say, instead of what the Democrats say we say? How about listening to what we have to say before booing us out of the building?

(That's all fine and good, redstate, but first you have to have something to say. Dumbasses.) :eyes:

5. You gotta read the whole thing. This part is gold.
It’s tough love, but I assure you, friend, it’s love. That’s why we fought like hell to restore the DC School Vouchers. That’s why we fought like hell to lower taxes on businesses, so employers could hire more people and create more success for everybody.

We received not one ounce of gratitude from you, but we did it anyway. (I is so sorry, Boss Man. I's be mo grateful next time.) And we will continue to do what is right for America, for whites, for blacks, for Latinos, for Republicans, for Democrats, for today, and for the future.

Their racism really shows here. The funny thing is their racism is so severe that they think blacks are too ignorant to know that the Republicans are a bunch of racists. That's why the keep only getting 5% of the black vote.

11. Ah Redstate. The sad little website owned by the total asswipe that brought you this:
http://search.twitter.com/search?q=from%3Aewerickson%20molester

Yes, he called retiring SCOTUS Souter a "goat f*&king child molester" (http://crooksandliars.com/john-amato/red-states-erik-erickson-writes-judge-s)

He also runs a local statewide blog in GA called Peach Pundit that discussed it here where he brags about using the only weapon in the GOP playbook - obstructionism http://www.peachpundit.com/2009/05/04/epic-win/

Erick Erickson is a total dick and a waste of space. And he's on the Macon City Council! He also calls for anyone not standing behind Sarah Palin to get out of the GOP. The crazies (and he is working hard to put himself up there with Rush and Boortz, et al) are totally coming unhinged. It's awesome.

20. Dear Republicans
Want to know why blacks don't vote for you?

Maybe it's because you've spent the past 40 YEARS chasing and cultivating the votes of white southerners, the very people who have spent the past 100+ years fighting tooth and nail against black equality.

Maybe it's because you tell those white southerners that you believe in "state's rights" which they KNOW means "the right to not have to treat the 'Neeeegroes' as equals"

Maybe it's because your solution to every problem is to give tax cuts to the very wealthy, few of whom are black, and hope that they piss prosperity on everyone else.

Maybe it's because you welcome hate mongers like Jesse Helms, Strom Thurmond, Trent Lott, and Jeff Sessions into your party with open arms.

May-be!

Get the FUCK out of here. Black folks, don't you just love it when people act as though we simply just MISUNDERSTOOD something. That we are all so stupid and easily mislead that if our enemies just come up with their own version of history, we'll fall for it?? "No, no! All of the racism coming from the Republican party for the last 60 years was just in your head! It was somebody else! We're innocent!!"

"Republicans stand, as much as anything, for equality of freedom, equality of opportunity. We do NOT stand for equality of outcome. Hard work is rewarded, laziness is not."

Wooooohahahahaha!!! Oh wait, he's not serious is he?? More importantly, he doesn't expect us to TAKE him seriously, does he??

And his little snide BS about
"Want special treatment? Tough.
Want the opportunity to escape poverty, crime, and poor schools? Then quit voting for the Democrats that put you there." get him one of these from #23 --

31. what fun it is
to pick on a very extremist post and act as if it is accurately representative of all repubs. And to point out the severely racist positions of a lot of repubs. But the dems are only better bny comparison, and a lot of the specific things mentioned in comments section are things both corporate-controlled parties are complicit in.

Voters cannot get trapped into 2 party ideology, or we continue to be stuck with the "lesser of 2 evils" outcome. Being less racist, as in this issue, is not the same as treating all people fairly and equally.

Lastly, a semantic point. Why do folks continue to speak of multiple races. There is only one race of humans. This term is destructive, IMO, in any context.

38. Why is this program being killed?
Everything that I read said that the people in the program loved it and that the other schools started to show improvements because
there was competition.

If the Republicans are the party of 'NO', then why are Democrats saying 'NO' to this solution that the black community wanted?

The people in the program are furious it's being killed. Doesn't that say that the program was successful, so why kill it?

Can someone explain why the program is being killed and have stats to back up that it wasn't successful?

If you read the results (thank you for the link) It's only been 3 years and reading scores improved. Math stayed the same.
They don't talk about history, science, art, etc. so I have to question how well the study was conducted.

But the parents liked it and said it was a much better environment. (the kids opinions didn't, but I would listen to parent over kids)

In 3 years, a program just in it's infancy shows positive results, you don't kill a program like that!

were 3 months ahead of their non-voucher peers. Rather than funding religious instruction and schools that are having trouble with special needs children AND those who other children who need help the most, the district should adapt the methods that produced the 3 month advantage and make it available to all the children in the district.
