So howcum nobody's suggested Michelle for...
the Court? Or did I miss something?

She's a Harvard lawyer, damn smart, and a black woman who knows the streets-- the perfect fit, right?

And, it would make Orren Hatch's head explode.

8. Umm, sense of humor is not allowed in GD or GD-P. Didn't you get the memo?
Many will get it, but enough won't that someone's feelings will get hurt before it's all over. I can show you the bruises.:)

13. The dog ate the memo....
and I maintain I'm not responsible for someone else's lack of reading comprehension or humor gene, or them just having a bad day and pissing on my post because it's there.

Further, I should be given at least two ATTABOYS for having the superhuman self control to delete the part bemoaning that the only thing lacking to make her the perfect candidate is that she's not a lesbian.

Just, wow.

15. It was that nasty little...
yappy rat terrier that did the damage. Crazy woman next door owns it, but the guy on the other side of her has a pit bull that drools and snarls whenever it sees the annoying little furball from hell.

I have to keep my cats inside because of that prowling beast-- it's already eaten all the local squirrels, two opossums, and a raccoon.

2. Making Hatch's head explode (figuratively) might be worth it.

I suspect there are other African American female judges with street experience, though, if those are the qualifications sought. I like her as First Mate, myself. Not that I'd complain one bit if she were named.

17. She's not a judge. And does not have a particularly distinguished legal career of decades
behind her. She's not as qualified as Harriet Myers was...and you know what everyone thought about HER.

26. President Clinton as a Justice would literally make the Republicans
go crazy.

It has precedent. Taft was a Chief Justice after leaving office.

27. I think support in the Senate for the SCOTUS nom matters enough that
President Obama would not presume to nominate his wife for the post.

Which is not to say that she is not every bit as impressive as you say she is. She's dynamite, in fact. She passed 'amazing' on the way up and is still airborne.

There are a good number of candidates for the appointment who will enjoy eventual, begrudging support of several GOP Senators, and a good number of those are female. I expect Pres. Obama to choose one of those for this pick.

for President Obama.
