My choice for the Supreme Court: Eliot Spitzer
Don't laugh.

He is washed up in electoral politic.

He taps a raw nerve on a populist front on the status of corporations and the need for regulation

He has a lonn running theme of looking out for the little guy

He is a former AG and has a world class intellect

And as long as we can keep him out og the Hay-Adams hotel, he would be a fine addition to SCOTUS.

He would also be most like to slap Scalia aroung chambers a few times.
If you atr going to pick a white guy he would be great.

1. And it'll be a lot easier to get over to the Mayflower Hotel if he's already in town...

2. never happen. It will be and should be, a woman.
there have been only two women appointed to the court. that's disgraceful. There are many qualified women.

No way a white male will be appointed by Obama. The last two appointments were white males. The one before that was a white male. not gonna happen.

6. He sure was
And he thought our best shot was Joementum (take Bush on where he is "strong" ie.- war on terror and support for Isreal, then beat him on moderate social issues).

I never thought that (War President) Bush would lose in 2004. All I wanted was a Democrat that could articulate that war should be the last option, and was not the last option.
I mean John Kerry tried to run as a war hero! I remember him as a 60's anti war icon.
insanity!

16. Forget the hooker stuff
it's the hypocracy that I hold him in contempt for. During his time as NY AG, he prosecuted hundreds of sex workers. He's as sleazy as Jim Bakker and Jimmy Swaggart in this regard.

nothing to do with her gender or ethenic background,, just her legal opinions

13. The composition of a body with that much power is important.
And Obama is wise enough to know that.

15. You are absolutely correct,, however it still needs to be based on
legal opinions, not gender or race or ethnic background,, I can just see Michael Bauchman being appointed because of gender,,,:sarcasm:

17. So a man who prosecuted hundreds of people
for providing a service he used, or for using that service, should be on the Supreme Court?

25. considering how Spitzer went after hedge funds
and the financial community in general - and considering that Obama is practically breaking his knees making nice with those same folks - given his appointments at Treasury, I really don't see Obama nominating him...

26. White. Male.
Not.Gonna.Happen.

Nevermind his Bill Clinton-esque tendencies... Obama is squaky clean, that's why people like him, and he's not going to risk that for a guy like Spitzer. Maybe in 7 & 1/2 years when he has no one else he has to worry about.. but not now.

We do want a 2nd term, right?
