Have you ever breezed through one of those on-line editorials and gone straight to the readers' comments? It's a guilty pleasure I know and perhaps a tad ignorant to see what people say before one even has the time to personally read the subject matter and personally digest it before coming to one's own opinion...but when you're actually looking at those opinions not to concur or disagree but to merely take a look at the verbiage...things get amazing. Especially as of late. I honestly thing that most of them are the same people....going to every site possible to post the same kind of thing....over and over.

I swear every time I read any major editorial there are around 300 comments at the end of the day...and the angriest of them say the same thing. Things like calling Obama "Barry" or "BHO". Repedition of turns of phrase caysed by birthers frothing at the mouth. Dittoheads saying the same thing over and over verbatum...not just because Rush said so...but because they are the same few people doing it.

Are there people who have nothing better to do but write stupid shit on every corner of the English speaking internet they can find? Not just posting in a board such as this or two or blogging personally...but literally going out into EVERY fricking place they can to post the same thing day after day...perhaps paid to do so...perhaps just Chad Constanza crazy...

I honestly wonder how many of those angry voices spouting the RW shock jocks opinions have the same IP address...or maybe I'm just paranoid.

Do you think they are on someone's payroll?

I definitely think those right wing emails are written by a professional and then sent out to older Repubs who live in rural areas who then spread them to their relatives. I've gotten a few of them and they don't sound like they were written by an ordinary person.

Edited to add that someone discovered that the Repubs sent the exact same letter to local papers all over the country. They just had some local Repub sign their name to the letter. That was 4 or 5 years ago as I recall.

4. Israel actually uses "cyber soldiers" who "magically" show up whenever Israel is being badmouthed.

I swear to fricking whatever they were showing up left and right a year or so ago when those rockets were going back and forward. Newbee Posters who you've never met before who have freaky nationalistic tendencies toward Israel very willing to imply anti-semitism in those who they would disagree with.

I've heard the theory that the Republican party has the money to do so as well. I knew one guy back in 2002 when I was posting to a video game board who racked up THOUSANDS of posts in a few months...always Right Wing. Always in attack mode.

'Course could just be regular crazy mofos as well...no need to get tinfoily about it...

7. Would that be our little DLC crowd that still hasn't gotten over the primaries completely?
Despite things working out rather well in the end for all of us?

actually stupid and only says what .... somebody (who???) tells him to OR he is an evil genius on his way to their house to take their guns and money, along with steal their women.

I'm never quite sure which one they actually believe although I think they are perfectly capable of holding two completely contradictory positions at the same time with no internal conflict.

Frankly, the comment sections get kind of scary to me. There are way to many delusional wing-nuts who are well-armed, completely divorced from reality and seem capable of way to much.

8. Repetition is a clear sign of a RW-er. Many are also children or adolescents.

10. Here's a subtlety you may have missed.
If you read the comments in sequential order, you will sometimes find that a long series of sane, sensible comments is suddenly interrupted by an outburst of idiotic wingnut remarks of the type you describe, one right after the other. After about 15-30 minutes worth of this, the comments return to normal sanity.

I figure you can use this to pinpoint the exact moment that some wingnut blogger somewhere sent all his sheep/readers to comment wingnuttily on this article. They all bleat obediently and waddle over there as soon as his post appears and add their pitiful, ignorant remarks. After about half an hour they've all blown their wads, and the comments return to sanity.

Long threads sometimes have two or more of these Wingnut Outbursts, several hours apart from each other.
