Rick Sanchez comparing number of protestors at tea parties to immigration & anti-war rallies...
Edited on Fri Apr-17-09 03:24 PM by jenmito
He KIND of called out Faux by saying, "One 'conservative network anchor' predicted MILLIONS of people would be there. WERE there millions of people?" Then he showed video of a 2006 immigration rally and said that one DID have millions of people in it. Then he showed just ONE anti-war rally in DC from 2005 and said just that one ALONE had 150,000! THEN he showed different "tea party protests" and said this one has about 1,000 in one city, 500 in another, a few hundred in another, etc. He asked again, "So were there millions of people as one anchor suggested on the air? I do believe we have the answer." Then he had on Nate Silver who said HIS numbers showed a total of between 300,000 and 400,000 "on the high side." Go Rick!

1. The only way to combat their lies is with the truth!
And they need smacked in the head with the truth every chance we get!

Idiots. Just because their brainless base believes the lies doesn't mean the rest of us will. There are a lot more of "us" than there are of "them," evidenced by the election of Barack Obama as President of the United States of America! They can all put THAT truth in their pipe and smoke it!

2. It's unfortunate for the rightwingers

That facts have a liberal bias.

4. I agree. I just wish MORE people/news networks would do this sort of thing...
We need more than Olbermann and Maddow to do it.

5. We should organize a DU task force...
Whenever we hear or read that someone in the media has combated RW lies with facts, we should inundate them with kudos... emails, calls, letters, supporting what they said and encouraging more of the same.

12. If you want...
You can send him a direct message at twitter: http://twitter.com/ricksanchezcnn Look on the right side of page where it says "Actions" and under that click on "message." I just sent him one thanking him for the segment and setting Fox's record straight. (I sent 4 direct messages to David Shuster and he sent me 3 responses! They went to my email address.)

11. He was a big Bush booster earlier in that administration, as I recalled.
Maybe he's just one of those guys who bends with the prevailing wind.

Just a guess.

8. There were zillions at our rally
Saw the local newspaper and local newscast saying there were many hundreds. They showed the crowd. It had to be, honest to God, maybe 30 people in all (if you count some kids being dragged along by their parents, maybe 36). They just kept walking aimlessly around like a dog trying to find a place to crap. The newswoman couldn't even keep enough of them in the frame of a picture to make it look like anyone was there. I would say that a good half of them looked like they were dug out of the homeless shelter. I don't think they were over-taxed millionaires..if you know what I mean!

9. My local news did the same thing. The "reporter" standing in front of a wide shot
said, "There are at least 1,000 people here."

And it was clear that there were probably 300-400 folks there....maybe 500.

But she just blurted out this number that totally defied what my eyes were showing me.

Lets taser all of them and see if it helps.

16. Anti-war rally in 2005? Try about 400,000. But no one wanted to talk
about that, and pics weren't allowed. :eyes:

18. I'm sure you're right...
maybe those were the numbers SANCHEZ was told. I'm not surprised that cameras weren't allowed. But he showed video of it and the crowd looked huge.
