Poll question: Yes/No Poll...Do you think a jury would convict the CIA officials of torture?
If Obama decided that the USDOJ should prosecute the intelligence operatives in question for torture, do you think a jury would convict them based on what we (now) know?

3. No chance, which means any prosecution would be improper.

5. I don't think the people who followed the judicial guidelines they
were given SHOULD be prosecuted. The ones that should be prosecuted are the people at the DOJ who were supposed to KNOW the law and deliberately distorted it.

6. I think if he defended the Constitution,
a remedy for the crimes somewhere on the chain would present itself. At least the process would show that some part of our government still works. Doing nothing insures it is still broken and subjects us to no protection from tyranny and nullifies our Constitution and the rule of law.

11. No, they didn't torture.
Have to look at relevant laws, and distinguish between those who allowed it, promoted it, and DID it. Laws make such distinctions, and the laws are difficult for some to understand.

13. Never. I think most Americans made a serious choice when they
went with Obama. We want a different direction. They had had it
with Bush and the GOP. To bring prosecutions would only prove
frustrating and turn off the good will of the country towards Democrats.

In reading the notes, the CIA had clear directions and approval.
Any jury would clear the CIA. The CIA sought and obtained permission.

17. Follow up: If there were less than 30% chance of a successful conviction, should the USDOJ
prosecute a torture case?
