Poll question: Do you approve of everything you've seen from President Obama?
Very direct and to the point.

I really hope you all will simply choose one of the two choices, as this will answer something I really would like to see answered. Thanks.

1. I'd like to support him 100%, I really would
But in some respects, he's leaning dangerously close to Bush territory. Seriously, this wiretapping business is something that no Democrat should be supporting. :(

2. This poll seems a little silly to me.
Edited on Wed Apr-08-09 12:09 AM by Cant trust em
I find it hard to believe that anyone is supportive of 100% of everything Obama has done. It's like one of those true/false questions you'd get in school that if they had the word "always" or "never" they were automatically false.

I'll just have to settle for generally very supportive.

4. Push poll (though I still voted for the second option)
Edited on Wed Apr-08-09 12:30 AM by Reterr
I think a lot of people who don't believe option 1 would still feel resentful about being forced to option 2 as a sort of scolding or whatever for defending Obama.

(However, there are a few out there who can genuinely check option 1 and they are a little scary....
I think Obama would find them scary.)

5. President Obama has repeatedly said we should speak up when we have concerns.
A lot of us are Obama supporter but also Obama prodders. And we should never be seen as disloyal for taking that stance.

7. How could one man ever get 100% support for everything he does
from a group as diverse as DU?

Or do you just post this in every thread on principal?

11. I post it frequently because it needs to be said
And it was legitimately part of the response that was needed to the poll questions.

Does it bother you that I post it? If so, why?

Sometimes you have to repeat these things to keep them from being swallowed in the river of words.

I will always oppose anyone whose argument is that people with concerns about the administration or legitimate differences on policy should just "shut up" or "wait-it's not TIME yet".

Every other decent Democrat should oppose such efforts as well.

20. Lol
No, but it's funny that you come here just to defend your ability to be critical - even if that's all you actually say. I think your posts of late are funny - but kind of sadly revealing of your state of mind.

23. It's not about MY abilities or MY rights. It's about the rights of all DU'ers
Why do you feel entitled to be dismissive and contemptuous of anyone with a slightly different view?

You DO get it that we're all on the same side here, don't you?

24. Also, really, why do you CARE what I post?
My posts are on any number of topics and express any number of views. None of them have ever done the Democratic Party nor the Obama Administration any harm.

10. important enough for you to read and comment upon - if I felt the exact way you describe yourself
Edited on Wed Apr-08-09 12:48 AM by Divine Discontent
about a situation I would not waste my time commenting on it. So, obviously, yes, I find it interesting enough to ask, that's a silly question. Why do political interest types love to watch discussions about possible electoral vote outcomes, it interests them. I wanted to see how much support there was on a progressive website for everything Obama does as being acceptable. If it doesn't interest you I cannot understand why you would waste even a second of your life on reading it - since the title explains what the poll is without pulling any punches. Have a good day HughMoran.

19. I wanted to see if there was any nuance to the poll
Since there isn't, I though "hmmm, this is stupid" and told you so - so, there's that.

12. 100% seems far out
I don't approve of 100% of what I've done the past two or three months. Obama is doing extremely well against my expectations and his campaign promises but it is closer to 50% on the scale than 100 "approve" on my part.

I guess 50%+ is just as good or better than I've seen, so there's a certain cheer of knowing you have a glass half full.

Because anyone who really thought they were going to agree with him 100% is really, really stupid. Hell, DU doesn't even agree with everything 100%!!!

Ridiculous, and stupid. Yup.

I see myself do either. Perhaps you should do a poll asking if people here are human.

27. This is really irrelevant...
Ask again in a year. There's been no time for him to delve into many issues, and even less time to comment. That said, there sure are a lot of armchair MBA's and Constitutional Professors here... the hand-basket to hell is already singed around the edges so there's no saving it now. I'm going to keep the faith for a little longer, even though, at face value, I don't agree with everything. But then, I never really expected to. That's just silly.
