The argument that the 1930s distinction was no longer important was easy to sell in the heady days of the 1990s.

Two other factors - the Commodities Futures Act that opted not to regulate swaps and derivatives, also signed by Clinton and the Bush/Cox SEC decision to allow leveraging to ratios like 44 to 1 were

I also now disagree with him regarding the Dollar; I think China has a point and that perhaps we do need a global currency. Let's do reform, do it properly, all the way.
