Stevie Wonder just gave a "shout out" to Barack on American Idol.

:applause:

While performing an awesome hot medley of MoTown hits, Stevie let loose a "I love you Barack Obama" followed by "It's all about positivity".

Yeah...I was watching "Idol". It's a guilty pleasure... :hide:

Some of these performers are total embarrassments. Others are damn good. Adam is bad ass, with real sick talent with genuine artistic chops.

SPOILER DELETED. :)

12. Thanks for deleting,
and Adam is my favorite, too! The guy who did the Johnny Cash song last week a la' Marrakesh? He's really good. And looked so different this week, but just as good.

And that gorgeous blonde who can't sing? Don't get me started.

3. My kids have watched it every year and I couldn't take it.
Now the teenager is thinking it is not too cool anymore, but I have to admit, this is the first year I can sit through the show, not sure if it is age or the talent is a bit better this year.

6. Stevie Wonder...
The blind guy on American Idol that can actually sing! Can't believe Scott made it through again.:puke: Also, can't believe I just typed that. Yeah, it is a damn guilty pleasure isn't it.

15. Scott would not be anywhere without his backstory. His singing sucks.
Danny Gokey goes to a church where I heard they tried to raise his wife from the dead.

My favorite is Adam.

16. Poor Danny. Its a pretty sad story.
:( At least he is moving forward with his life. That is a weird story though.
My and my husband both love Adam. His voice is incredible and he can sing anything....be a rocker or pull back like the other night.

18. Danny sometimes seems a bit smug at times.
Edited on Fri Mar-27-09 12:03 AM by Cash_thatswhatiwant
I dont know. He also goes to one of those name-it-and-claim-it type churches which runs his wife's charity. http://community.livejournal.com/ohnotheydidnt/32596463.html?page=1#comments (scroll up). This is his church: http://video.google.com/videoplay?docid=-3518164410688841943&ei=EFzMSdPoF43y-QH3sNC7BQ&q=faith+builders

Adam I hope wins. I'm hoping homophobia doesn't keep him from winning. Some of the wingnuts I feel are trying to spread them as if to scare off his female fans. Little do they know, people our age could care less :D http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BR6NB4k_Pr8

21. He does.! He's someone where I'd actually like to go to a concert of his.
I don't think I'd go to Danny's.

I think it will be Danny vs Adam though

people have said it will be like prop 8 all over again lol.

www.idolforums.com is a good website if you like idol.

22. Adam will be a star...
He's so current and original, the way he blends so many different styles to make a whole new "scene". It refreshing.

For those who aren't familiar, rickey.org offers Idol audio and video links.

Here are Adam's performances:

8. Yes he did, and did you notice that in the last few measures, the background
singers were singing Stevie's "Ba-a-rack-O-Ba-a-ma-a" in a scale going up and then down?

9. Wasn't that cool?
Best part of the show. These results shows are 4x as long as they need to be, but it was worth it to see Stevie.

No spoiler here: I think the one sent home was no surprise. Seems like a very nice person, but not very exciting. When s/he was singing on TV, you just know half the country got up to use the bathroom and see if there was any more of that zucchini bread left.

17. Stevie Wonder is the best!
Here are the words to one of my all time favorite songs.

Saturn
by Stevie Wonder

Packing my bags -- going away
To a place where the air is clean
On saturn
Theres no sense to sit and watch people die
We dont fight our wars the way you do
We put back all the things we use
On saturn
Theres no sense to keep on doing such crimes

Theres no principles in what you say
No direction in the things you do
For your world is soon to come to a close
Through the ages all great men have taught
Truth and happiness just cant be bought - or sold
Tell me why are you people so cold

Im....
Going back to saturn where the rings all glow
Rainbow, moonbeams and orange snow
On saturn
People live to be two hundred and five
Going back to saturn where the people smile
Dont need cars cause weve learned to fly
On saturn
Just to live to us is our natural high

We have come here many times before
To find your strategy to peace is war
Killing helpless men, women and children
That dont even know what theyre dying for
We cant trust you when you take a stand
With a gun and Bible in your hand
And the cold expression on your face
Saying give us what we want or well destroy

Im....
Going back to saturn where the rings all glow
Rainbow, moonbeams and orange snow
On saturn
People live to be two hundred and five
Going back to saturn where the people smile
Dont need cars cause weve learned to fly
On saturn
Just to live to us is our natural high

23. Can I get some love for Matt Giraud?
Like Scott, he plays the piano, but unlike Scott, he has a beautiful voice and soul.

29. I love American Idol and never miss it. I know that probably makes me
a nerd, but I don't care. It's fun. I think they have some pretty good ones this year (Adam, Allison, Danny, Matt, Lil). But poor Megan. She has a great jazz voice, but she has no idea what to do with it, no idea what to sing, and no idea what do with herself on stage. She seems pretty uncoordinated.

Anway, back to the point at hand . . . Stevie's shout out was awesome! And then he sang his little Bar-arack O-ba-ama song and I had to laugh.

Too cute.

:applause:
