Obama being attacked by Gingrich about speaking at Notre Dame and Catholic Bishop will not attend
if Obama speaks at Notre Dame.

Well excuse me, when Bush went to Bob Jones University to speak, the same Bob Jones University that teaches that the Catholic Church is the great Harlot.. did you say anything? would you have refused to attend

McCain, Hagee.. remember that one you sanctimonious posers..

Or when Hastert refused to have the Catholic priest as the the first house chaplain?

President Obama is the president of the United States, and has never dismissed the church as the Mother of Harlots, but because he is a Democrat, you want him banned from speaking at the college.

What hypocrites

By the way Gingrich..multiple marriages is against the church. How much did you have to pay to get the pass on that one..

1. see, it's hard to keep track of their morals and beliefs since they change so much.
it's hard because they don't HAVE any actual morals or ideals or beliefs. they go with the wind.

13. He sure does...
I LOVE that segment. Shuster is so much better than Gregory was. I loved when he had nightly reports on the Libby/CIA leak case.

No problem!

3. About Newt's previous marriages
If I remember correctly, as long as his previous wives are still living he and his current wife are guilty of adultery in the eyes of the church.

Now, if he were able to get those marriages annulled, then he would be off the hook. But I don't think he meets the requirements for the church to grant him an annulment.

This of course is coming from a former Catholic(me), who's aunt sought and received an annulment from her first husband.

4. Catholic bishops almost never attend graduations at colleges
Edited on Wed Mar-25-09 03:26 PM by quiller4
I've been laughing at the news reports announcing that the Catholic bishop would refuse to attend because it is much more likely that he would not have been invited. My sister's children graduated from Loyola Marymount, a Jesuit university. The Jesuit provincial was there but none of the local hierarchy. The same thing is true of Gonzaga and Seattle University. The Jesuit Provincial is there but not the local archbishop. It is true that retired archbishop Hunthausen attended the Seattle U graduation the year he was given an honorary doctorate but I think that qualifies as a special circumstance.

11. Gingrich is a walking sin.
Obama at least can stay in a committed, loving relationship. He's not out there destroying the sanctity of marriage like Mr. Gingrich.

14. Oh spare me the *fervor* of these crazy new converts. They are trying to take
over the CC and turn it back to the days of the Inquisition.

I feel like the folks who live in one of those sleepy little towns when some freaky cult moves in and takes it over.
