Can President Obama defeat the media, the rethugs, the corporations, and traitors in his own party
to be successful in achieving his goals?

Whether we think he is liberal or not and whether we agree with his specific goals, he obviously has a very tough, uphill war to fight to change much of anything in this country. I seriously question whether anyone can succeed against those odds.

A follow-up question, and a more important one, is what can be done to "help" him, if he indeed needs "our" help.

My first answer is that he has to bypass, as much as possible, the conventional means of influence peddling. As the POTUS, he does have the greatest "bully pulpit" on the planet. I think that his only chance for success lies in going directly to the people, as much as possible, to articulate his vision and arguments for taking those paths.

Relying on the media is foolish, since they are so obviously and blatantly against anything he proposes. His own party will do to him what it did to Bill Clinton (not that BC was anything other than a moderate, corporate republican) - undercut him at every chance to advance its own, narrow interests. And we know that the pukes will fight, obstruct, and try to destroy anything the administration works for (that is against their interests).

How can one man defeat so many powerful enemies?

1. Its tough but I think he has a lot of hidden strength and is not knocked
around as easily as some people may have thought. We have to support him when we can and when we agree with him.

4. As long as his approval ratings stay high, yes
That is how Clinton survived the war declared on him from day one.

5. he mentioned limbaugh for a reason- all flat earther obstruction
starts with the coordinated UNCONTESTED repetition that 1000 RW radio stations do every day all day to a crowd the size of the one that voted for obama.

the rest of the media still has to present some semblance of balance to be taken seriously and it is that giant radio megaphone that enables the trad media's corporate ownership to continue to keep proven GOP liars and fools and loudmouths who have been wrong about everything, at the table.

the talk radio monopoly gets the backs of the senators who will filibuster obama's agenda but it is almost completely ignored by those it attacks 24/7/365 because they'd rather listen to a scratched barry manilow CD.

when will americans who love democracy, progressive groups, environmentalists, unions start calling complaining boycotting and picketing the local talk radio stations and the local sponsors who fill the public airwaves, who are licensed to operate for the public good, with proven lies, distortions, swiftboating, and global warming denial?
