SNL mocking Tim Geithner
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 11:37 PM by jenmito
Making him look incompetent-saying his plan is that the person with the best idea for the banking crisis will get $420 Billion...if 2 people have the same idea, divide by 2, etc., and now he's taking calls and listening to callers' advice. Look for it to be played endlessly in the media.

1. SNL missed a big opportunity for laughs.
Edited on Sat Mar-07-09 11:39 PM by Connie_Corleone
The whole Limbaugh-Steele story was pure comedy gold, and SNL blew it by not going that route.

Not much laughs for the Geithner bit.

2. I'm sure they'll cover it in the News segment, but you're right. THAT should've been the opening
scene.

3. Geithner has been a disapointment
They need to send Rahm down to Treasury to kick his ass.

5. Geithner is more relevant for satire right now
Because he's in a high position of power and he's giving the impression he doesn't have a clue.

9. You wouldn't know anything that is relevant
if you counted on the cable news or nightly news to tell you.

10. You'd think Rush and "the octomom" were the big stories...
and the stock market fall being Obama's fault.

and yet are oddly paid more. It's what happens when you pick pretty faces over substance.

The corporate owned media trying to distract the country on what's really going on right now doesn't hurt either.

6. Geithner Is A Republican
Although he claims to have switched to being a Democrat, he's not - he's actually a DLCer, which is a different thing entirely. He needs to be shown the exit.

17. Has Geithner ever expanded upon his partisan political leanings,
Edited on Sun Mar-08-09 02:52 AM by tritsofme
or was that entire rant just out of thin air?

18. He Was A Registered Republican

Who rose to high position in the Clinton White House.

e.g., http://www.tnr.com/politics/story.html?id=c85b418b-5237-4f54-891f-8385243162bd

He's now engaging in giving enormous amounts of cash to bankers with no strings attached.

How else can one functionally characterize Geithner, other than a crypto-Republican DLCer?

at the Senators who came in to discuss the spending bill and he's turning into the Incredible Hulk ("The Rock Obama"). He threw Hutchinson, McCain, and someone else out of the window. Turned out it was just a dream of Rahm's.

and every time he says something "out of line" he gets zapped. Rush installed it. Seth Myers was just interviewing him on Weekend Update.

15. I love watching "fantasy news"
I know, I know... I don't have near enough post count to even think of contributing to the thought process here. :-( (this post is just upping us the last one)

But one day, when I "earn" enough, y'all will listen to what I have to say.

I HATE politics. Especially from those who are supposed to be above the game.
