It's been 2 months since President Obama took office
Can everyone just chill out. It took us 30 years to dig this debt hole. Everyone played some role in it even though it was mostly lead by bad GOP leaders. It's going to take some time to fix it.

If he fixxes this thing in 2 months all he has done is kicked the can for either himself in 3 years or the next person which is what we have been doing since the mid 1980s. Cut the guy a little slack. Despite what you've been told our entire economy is fundamentally flawed (no consumer nation survives long) and its going to take time to fix it.

1. Not exactly two months at this point...
...but I'm trying to cut him a little more slack.

Still, lifting the ban on stem-cell research should take all of 15 seconds. How hard can it be?

9. Oh yeah, "slack".
I'll tell how hard lifting the ban on stem cell research can be.. We went through all the work to get Obama elected 'cause it sure wouldn't have happened with mccain-palin.

27. A government bureaucracy is involved
Use your imagination. I'm not a doctor - how hard can it be to figure out the cure for cancer? It sure it easy when it is a job of which one does not know the details.

How hard can it be to pull out of Iraq? For some reason, it takes more than a year. But it probably does and I would probably understand why if I had years of military experience.

Janet Napolitano to the Gulf Coast to clean up Katrina's mess, and now he brings
back stem cell research.

That is my President!

As far as the economy goes he is working on it and is man enough to say if something
doesn't work he will try something different but he is going "fix it" but we all need to
work on "it."

3. Agreed ... He's already done a great deal in just over a month
I can't believe that the RW fuckers are trying to blame the economic
meltdown on him, when he's barely had time to get his Cabinet in
place. They like to make jokes about some supporters treating him
like the Messiah, but THEY'RE the ones who apparently expect him to
walk on water ...

Don't you want to see who is itching to jump out of their skin, not to criticize, but to declare the Obama administration a failure?

12. That many folks here are bitching about him?
Maybe it's just me, but I've noticed less bitching about his performance.
I initially had some reservations about a few of his appointments, but so far he's exceeding my expectations and I consider myself more cynical than most.
Besides it's only been 2 months. If he keeps this up for the rest of his term, I'll be positively orgasmic. I'll even hang his picture on the wall like my Grandma did with a picture of FDR.

17. Yeah, I agree
But our job is not only to get his back but also to put his feet to the fire. We're doing both well, I think. And Obama, while wrong on Iraq has been right on so many things, I'm pretty dazzled.

7. I think he's done amazing progress in 2 months. He's tackled most of the major issues.
And when the dust clears, this country will be the better for it. It is probably really hard for some to see the big picture or the light at the end of this very dark tunnel, but Obama sees it and he's aiming right for it. We all just need to get less excited about every little negative thing and take a step back and see how every move he's making will eventually achieve us a win in the end.

to GWB who took off two months prior to 911. I'm trying to see which has been worse for the country. Hmmmmmm..... now let me think.

13. I've got something postive to say - since you often just hear the negative
Today I got an email from planned parenthood telling me "President Obama began the process of overturning the Bush administration rule that limits the rights of patients to receive complete and accurate reproductive health information and services"

He's not off the hook for keeping the war in Afghanistan going, or single-payer health care, and there are more... but I will at least give some credit when it is due.

I was promised a pony that pooped ice cream and farted rainbows! Obama is a failure!!! WAHHHHHH!!!!!

President Obama has shown more leadership in six weeks and got more done under extraordinarily difficult circumstances than every Republican on the face of the Earth has in the last ten years, altogether.

Set up a pony fund and you'll have your pony by the time he's out of office. (I know you're kidding, I really do!).

I want the pony because I hear the younger ones are still tender and make good barbecue.

Getting kinda hungry at my house lately.

16. You'll notice that the GOP isnt offering any other solutions....
... they're just trying to STOP him.

Because they know what he's doing will work? And when it does, they'll be even more screwed than they are now?

That's my theory anyway.

I don't see any connection between how long the new administration has been in office and people "chilling out." Your post makes no sense to me.

If the entire economy is fundamentally flawed - and I believe that is the case - then the administration simply needs to say that, and tell the truth about it and explain what we are going to do about that. Then I, and millions of others, would have plenty of patience.

But so long as we are hearing the opposite of that from the administration, we have a duty to continue to speak out.

Time to cut the critics some alack if you ask me. Successful politicians welcome - need - pressure. It doesn't hurt them, it helps them. The big money interests are not cutting anyone any slack nor are they chilling. Nor should we.

We need to slow down and give him a chance. No one I hope voted for him because they thought he could work miracles.

23. He should immediately put a moratorium on foreclosures.
1 in eight homes are now in foreclosure. People cannot wait for the banks to lend and re-negotiate loans. Barack needs to play hardball now!

There is no time to waste, in 2 more months it could be too late!
