Limbaugh vs Steele: A Long Hard Slog That Won't Go Away
Edited on Mon Mar-02-09 06:15 PM by sampsonblk
This is great.

The Washington Establishment Republicans realize their party will die if it does not expand. They are trying like mad to expand the unexpandable. It would be laudable except we know they are only doing it to save their own careers.

On the other hand, how do you expand something you don't own? The GOP is nothing without its right-wing, southern racist wacko wing. Without them, the GOP would never have been competitive. Those people are not team players. They really believe the junk they say they believe.

Opening the doors of the party is not an option for them. They want nothing to do with any expansion, and they never have. They will accept new voters, but not their ideas. Not their leaders. Not their aspirations. Not their policy positions.

So to all those who foolishly thought this was just another pendulum swing, or who thought the GOP was run primarily by people who work on Capitol Hill, I give you in one corner Rush "The Big Fat Idiot" Limbaugh. The champion of the Right Wing Fanatics. And in the other corner, Michael "The Unreal Deal" Steele, fighting on behalf of the Washington, D.C. GOP "leadership."

There is no room for reconcilation. I mean none. You don't reconcile with right wing wackos. You either do what they want, or you are evil. Good luck, Mr. Steele. You can beat Limbaugh and lose a huge chunk of your party. Or you can lose to Limbaugh, and lose any chance of keeping the GOP competitive in the future.

FYI: "Never pick a fight with someone who has an unlimited supply of ink." In Limbaugh's case, he has three hours of air time each day to hammer you and anyone else he chooses. How you gonna beat that?

Friends, we are watching a political party die, right before our eyes. The only thing that can help them is if we give them something to unify around.

Edit = Typos
