Blaming Obama for the current economic troubles.
Edited on Mon Mar-02-09 05:51 PM by Arrowhead2k1
WTF is wrong with people? It's like no matter where I go these days (except DU), someone is railing at Obama as if he is the absolute cause of the crisis which we have before us. The guy hasn't even been in office for 2 months yet, but suddenly people have forgotten all about the Bush administration and their carelessness which helped ultimately lead us into this very situation.

I think things are going to get much worse before they get better and there's nothing Obama or McCain or anyone else could possibly dream of doing to save us from feeling the pain at this point. Tough times are indeed ahead, but my biggest fear is that in 4 years we'll be staring down the barrel of another Rethuglican administration because people are too god damn stupid to realize that the Democrats are just trying to clean up THEIR mess here.

2. Anyone who seriously believes Obama is responsible for this mess is an idiot.
Those who are expressing this sentiment likely are doing so for political reasons only, and are hoping most listening will not think for themselves, because if you think about it, it doesn't make sense.

This recession began in December 2007. This is documented. Bush was the pResident. Most understand the process of going from a good economy to a recession is a slow one, it doesn't happen overnight. The recession was already well underway by the official beginning date of December 2007.

3. You have no idea.
I spend a lot of time arguing politics on an Evangelical Christian discussion forum that I used to drop in on to argue religion with people. Those people are lunatics. Just today I've dealt with several different people who absolutely insist Obama is responsible for the current state of the entire global economy while simultaneously insisting Bush produced a period of great economic prosperity after fixing the economy he got from Clinton by using his magic tax cuts.

I'm dead serious. They post from parallel universes or something.

4. They Live In The Same Would That Says FDR Caused The Depression, and Hoover Had It Right
Sadly, they get an amazing amount of airplay notwithstanding their incoherence.

5. The "coach" always gets too much of the credit and too
much of the blame. FDR probably would have been "twittered" or "Cable TV'ed" out of office.

6. Same folks who said Clinton was responsible for something acute which happened 8 mos
After president failure took office. They have blue and red glasses on and nothing not even the truth can change their world view.

8. All I Know Is This... Money Seems To HAVE To Be Spent To Get Things Going
again, but for the life of me I'm no longer sure WHAT the answer is! And I am VERY afraid for all of us!! Market hits 7,000 and I fell over, today under 7,000 and I'm ready to jump out a window!

Not that I HAVE ANY MONEY, just that I DON'T have any money! If THEY don't have it, how will WE get any, and what is going to REALLY go down? My stomach churns all the time and I have to STOP listening to ANY news because of "anxiety attacks!"
