Granted it's early, but it does appear that the leading contender for the GOP
nomination in 2012 may be this guy:

6. Just remember, the only other great major league pitcher in politics is also a Republican
Is this a trend?

7. : ) It could be. Schilling's rabid defense of Bush could be the prodrome
of Bunning's Dementia.

The One I'm Worrying About

by Jonathan Singer, Sat Feb 28, 2009 at 04:27:21 PM EST

The one I'm worrying about isn't one of the retreads from 2008, or one of the potential 2008 Vice Presidential picks like Tim Pawlenty. No, it's the less used car salesman-like version of Mitt Romney, Utah's Governor Jon Huntsman. Take a look at some of what he had to say this week:

5. Yes. Huntsman's getting some ink now. Agree with you that his
sheer normal-seemingness is potentially persuasive.

8. he would be a perfect R candidate
he took 7 figures to be injured all last season...

So he would be the perfect guy to rail against people who don't work and expect handouts....

10. Yep. Ol' Curt might be walking smackdab into history, owing to the
dearth of other candidates out there for the GOP.

They're pretty much down to Rush Limbaugh, Newt Gingrich, the aerial huntress, and Bobby 'We Don't Need No Stinkin' Arts Endowment' Jindal.

I think Curt's got a shot.

9. Curt Shilling wouldn't win dog catcher, even in MA.
He lives here, but most people see him as a right-wing Bush-loving LOSER.....who took his $8 million dollar paycheck when he KNEW he wasn't going to play last year. Boston sports fans vote, and Curt, you won't be winning shit.
