6. Reasoning skills, or parroting skills?? He's not reasoning anything, simply regurgitating
what he has been taught by adults.

This is a finely honed technique used by so-called conservatives. I know because as a pre-teen I, along with several other kids with good grades, was selected to be trained in conservative ideology by a local right-wing doctor. My parents were more than happy to have me be "educated" by this very nice gentleman and upstanding citizen who was a John Birch Society stalwart.

He took me and several others to a number of gatherings of like-minded individuals and gave us many books and pamphlets to learn from. The expectation was that we would be the Young Republicans of the future, which some of us were.

Fortunately I was able to break out of the mold a few years later when Vietnam opened my eyes to the imperial ideals of our republic.

19. No, I was not molested by them and never any hint of it. Very nice people but totally
taken in by the anti-communism rhetoric at the time (50's and early 60's). That was the era of the Soviet state at its peak, so many Americans were genuinely afraid of the "red menace".

Sad to say, but many average, working-class Americans were blind to the good things that government had done for them and was doing for them. The unions were a favorite target of these regressives, as were academics who did not kowtow to them.

Jesse Helms was a benefactor of the paranoia and anti-liberal/anti-government sentiment that took root in those times.

2. That poor kid. He should be out playing with his friends, but instead
he has to argue politics with adults like he's some sort of sideshow. His parents sure did a number on him. I hope he will be able to go away to college and escape those idiots.

3. He's right about the KKK being a terrorist group, that 13 yr old is very well spoken and smart...
...but has been exposed to only one perspective of ideals.

I pray that he sees all perspectives as soon as possible.

11. Who's right?
Because if I remember correctly it was Thom who called the KKK a terrorist organization and the child was scoffing at the notion as he preferred to go on ad nauseam about the "Muslim threat."

Regards

4. What an obnoxious little twirp.....
Edited on Sun Mar-01-09 10:03 AM by lib2DaBone
he causes the same anger and hatred I felt when I heard Sarah Palin speak at the RNC... cut from the same mold.

He uses the same tactic that Ann Colture uses in debates.. "give me a break"..... when he hears something he can not debate or he knows is true... he sticks his fingers in his ears and goes "na-na-na-na-na.. I can't hear you".

7. I can see his future now. He'll become president of Young Republicans of
America. And then, if he follows tradition, he will sexually assault someone while they're sleeping and then resign to go on to 'bigger and better things' after he gets caught.

8. If he's so interested in protecting this nation against enemies, I hope he is prepared to enlist
both in ROTC and laterin the Army or better yet, the Marine Corps and demand to be sent wherehe is in harm's way to protect his country.

20. Guess he never read the Preamble of the Constitution.
"...promote the General Welfare..."

But, that figures. To Republics, it's only a 'piece of paper'.

18. The sith has trained this one well.
The dark side is strong in this young one. His cadance and style mimics Darth Limbaugh heavily. That is what makes this so laughable. This young kid sounds like a parrot.

I've heard young people who trend more liberal who come across in my eyes as more well-read and have done better research.

As a high school student and as a college student I had the opportunity to go through the Republican media training. It was interesting. I see the same training in this kid.

There is a difference between training and education.
