Sound byte contest !!!
Of course, scarcely few of us buy into "the world is safer" BS.
Many of us get wrapped up in the complex myriad of examples for why this is so completely untrue.

Josh Marshall posted this a couple days ago. . .

"Kerry needs a catch phrase or catch question about the Iraq war, one that provides offense against President Bush's oft-stated, extremely lame, but also somewhat effective line that the world is safer with Saddam Hussein out of power. In political rhetoric, coherence and clarity almost always trumps substance. So substance must be rendered very coherent and very clear."

So I thought a sound byte contest might be fun. Participation is free and the prize might even be usage of the phrase by a candidate or surrogate.
Who knows. . .?

The most concise response to this I can think of is. . .

"these predominantly disasterous ends have not justified the inordinantly tragic means"

(too many syllables- I know)

Now your turn. . .

3. two great ones
you may have won with #1.

#2 is funnier but probably over the heads of the seemingly slumbering populous.

There have gotta be some more out there. . .

5. A destabilized Middle East will not made the world safer

The words, destabilized Middle East, strike fear in most hearts, and once more, it's true. * went in without a plan; Clark and others warned at the beginning of the war of the outcome, and they were right.

6. two more great ones #4 & #5
#5 reminded me of a one liner I posted a while ago. . .

* has started three wars and doesn't know how to finish any of them.

Three meaning that I feel there is a great need to differentiate the war against terror ("a tactic") from the ill conceived and poorly executed wars in Iraq & Afghanistan.

any more. . .?
