Houston radio station GM may dump CBS news over Rather thing
I saw this on a radio board, by way of Freakville. Here's the freeper thread:

http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1217153/posts

Just announced on the Chris Baker talk show:

Ken Charles, the Station Manager for 950KPRC in Houston (the largest talk station in Houston) just sent the CBS News VP all his nasty e-mails and told them that CBS will either fire Dan Rather by Monday and come completely clean on the matter or he will take CBS News off the air of his radio stations (he manages two of the largest in Houston).

He took Dan Rather's 4pm top of the hour brodcast off effective immediately and replaced it with Fox news.

He said he will find a way to cancel the CBS contract if they do not resolve this in a manner that retains their credibility as a news source.

Needless to say, the freeps are lovin' this, and they've already got 306 posts and counting on this thread. But isn't it kind of ironic that this asshole GM is talking about credibility and is threatening to hook up with FOX as his radio network affiliation?

BTW, here's the station site:

And...(drum roll)...it's owned by Clear Channel!

2. So Chris Baker
is in Houston now. I thought he went to Dallas from KC. I used to love his show until he started with all the winger stuff, it was amusing before that. Somehow I do not think this is going to work. Fire Dan Rather?

3. Must be opportunity
Many mild-mannered radio guys become RW firebreathers to get work. CC especially is notorious for hiring blatant Rushbot clones for their talk stations. Whatever gets the ratings, I suppose.

Which is why CC is so gaga over AAR. It turned a garbage dump of a station in Portland into the top AM station in the market in one book.

CC may be RW, but money is their president.
