Check Asshole Before Opening Mouth!
That idiot Santelli (CNBC) has done great damage by playing to the "what's in it for me" crowd. Obama's spokesman replied today to point out that this mortgage program is for people who did not buy more than they could afford or acted irresponsible. It's for people who lost their job and can't continue to pay what before they could easily pay AND for neighborhoods where a person's home value has hit the floor because of neighbors in foreclosure.

This bastard's rant is like me foul mouthing all of you who live in, say, Florida. After a hurricane hits, I go into a rant calling you a bunch of assholes for living there and that I don't see what I can get for ME out of bailing your ass out. Only in this financial mess, the morons like Santelli, who are screaming "where's mine" are just right around the corner from running into the hurricane themselves. This isn't a national "grease" everyone's pocket program nor should it be. It's trying to keep the dam from breaking and washing all of us away.

These assholes already talked a really bad situation into a world-wide panic a few months ago and now they are trying to put us into decades of depression. I do hope Obama's people take CNBC for a little "ride" and give them some offers they can't refuse! Someone has to. (Perhaps Goldman Sachs who wanted to kill the other negative bastard who juiced up his reporting with all sorts of flaming adjectives regarding a meeting of theirs would be most happy to "talk" to these clowns.)

1. It's amazing to me how people that haven't lost their jobs are so
quick to slam those of us who have. It makes me sick every time I hear that. I have many friends in Michigan who have lost everything or are on the verge of losing everything because both husband and wife lost their jobs. I don't know any person who bought a home they couldn't afford just for the "fun" of losing it. It's disgusting to spout that kind of crap off!

2. Over time people
tend to feel entitiled to what they now have. It's amazing how fast you can go from an "I'm on top of the world, fuck everyone else" attitude to "Oh shit, I'm fucked". It would be nice to see these pundits start to lose jobs and experience what it's like, I despise every one of them.

They go on and on and yet provide no meaningful input to society at all.

5. My husband and I were just talking about this last night. I've never
wished ill on anybody but I do hope they get a rude awakening. On a similar level...in 2006, I lost my job at Ford. In late 2007 my husbands Chrysler job was gone. We both found jobs paying less than half of what we were making. We made every attempt to sell our home etc. My neighbors both worked for Merck as sales reps. I can count how many times they told us how happy they were not to have counted on the auto industry etc. Well last May, they both got the ax and they are struggling like hell and going through the same thing we did. Sometimes shit has to hit the fan for folks to wake up.

6. firedup---it's the same old game
This is the GOP-type of tactic where you separate people into "groups" and then turn one group against the other. What will be shocking is when one of these bastards fall out of "group 1" (gainfully employed)into "group 2"! It's funny how fast they can lose their "values and principles". Ohhh, and who is that witch with the long dark hair whose fangs come out at the mere mention of Obama/Dems? She only knows "attack, attack" and talk up "free market". Hey, honey, it sure doesn't look like "free market" when the bastards have to come to us to beg money, does it??---but they tend to ignore inconvenient facts like that.

7. I know the witch you speak of....can't remember her name.
We never saw the outbursts when they received and squandered 350 million....you're right! Divide and conquer is a big part of their agenda.

I hate them all....just sayin

3. What you're witnessing is class struggle, with the capitalist class on its heels
Edited on Fri Feb-20-09 11:17 AM by alcibiades_mystery
for the first time in maybe 40 years. As the class struggle has amply demonstrated, the capitalists are absolutely brutal and vicious when they feel cornered.

While Santelli's argument would seem like a "what's in it for me" argument, it is actually a concerted argument on behalf of the entire class.

8. It's derivative traders like Santelli & his floor trader deregulation nuts who CAUSED this bullshit.
These people made gobs and gobs of dough on market speculation and then the entire house of cards collapsed and took everyone else down with it.

I can't believe these fuckers are bitching now.

They are screaming loudest so that no one stops and says "wait a minute - you assholes did this!"

11. Exactly. Where was his rant when Wall Street got $350 billion in bailout money?
It's like he's actually trying to make the market dive further.

10. Is that the guy who was ranting on Hardball last night about his neighbors taking out a mortgage
they couldn't afford?

I had to change the channel because I couldn't stand his self righteous nonsense. Until I changed the channel I was yelling "How do you know they couldn't afford the mortgage when they bought the house?"

That guy, if he's the same one, is a jackass.

Regards

13. CNBC is a biased joke.
Anything that is not Wall Street insider conventional wisdom is met with perplexed stares.
