A little OT but Repost: Fact Checking Lou Dobbs.

A while ago, Amy Goodman busted Lou Dobbs for getting his talking points, content and guests from a hate group. Some of you may remember that. I'm reposting it (video at link) so people can refresh their memories on how he went about denying the whole thing. First he says, he didn't know. Then he says, it was a one time thing, a mistake. Then finally, he says Amy is just being mean. It wasn't racism, you see.

(If you can, don't watch it for the issue but just for how he reacts every time Amy or Juan lay a fact on him.)

* His claim that a “third of our prison population” are illegal aliens (according to the Justice Department about 6 percent of the state and federal prison population are non-citizens)

* Why white supremacists have appeared on Lou Dobbs Tonight without disclosure over their ties to hate groups

* His show’s reporting on leprosy and immigration. A 2005 report on Lou Dobbs Tonight claimed there had been 7,000 new cases of leprosy in the U.S. over the past three years. In fact, there have been 7,000 cases reported over the past 30 years

1. I can't stand Lou Dobbs, I don't watch him.

I saw him for what he truly was, when he posed in a picture holding the box of "Obama Waffles" during the election. It depicted Obama in a Turban on the front.

2. I remember that. I also remember people here arguing that he wasn't a racist

and rolling out all kinds of excuses for him. Amy pretty much demolished them all.

But the value of this video, imho, is how innocuous he looks while he's denying horrible cr@p. He looks like one of your nice neighbors that holds your mail when you're on vacation.

4. I remember back a couple of years ago, he was whining about....

immigration and why couldn't we have more "European" immigration. European = white in his mind, I had NO doubt. That was the last time I ever watched his show.

5. He's only against

people illegally coming to the U.S. and causing every problem the U.S. has. :sarcasm:

If a person will break an immigration law, then it of course logically follows that they will break any other law. :sarcasm: It's the best indicator of future criminality there is. :sarcasm:
