Best. President. EVER!

In less than one month, President Obama has initiated an unprecedented presidential presence that has electrified the American people, as well as the citizens of the world, with a stunning plan that was overwhelmingly passed by Congress. Completely negating the eight years of terroristic economic policies that have plagued the vast majority of working Americans, Mr. Obama has provided his promised change with stunning speed and effectiveness. This bill was supported by EVERY progressive and even most moderate and conservative democrats in both the House and the Senate, and will essentially save millions of Americans of destitution and absolute subjugation to the Republican Menace. Indeed, this is perhaps the GREATEST IMPACT a president has EVER had in his first month in office in history.

I have stated that by the time Barack Obama has finished his presidency in 2016, he will be judged as the Greatest US President in US history, probably never to be surpassed. But the way that Obama has listened to the American people, particularly those hardest hit in Elkhart, Indiana, as well as Ft. Meyers, Florida, was incredibly sensitive and powerful at the same time. One particular incident struck yours truly. When Henrietta Hughes gave her incredibly emotional, desparate plea, all I could think of was this incredible, seething HATRED I had of ANYTHING and EVERYTHING republican. If I could wish anyone could die a SLOW, PAINFUL death, it was with every republican official whose policies had led to her destitution. Without a doubt, there is NO WAY that I'll EVER think of republicans in any light that does not involve pain. Lots and lots of pain.

But my feelings for republican scumbucket slime shall wait for another column. Suffice to say that when Ms Hughes finished, Barack Obama was CLEARLY affected. His eyes glistened over, and even as he mentioned that help may take awhile, and that many people were in her situation, I knew that we had a real HUMAN BEING for a president. And I knew that the US Congress knew it, and despite the fact that NO VOTES were cast by republican criminals in the House, and only three in the Senate, Mr. Obama has been very effective in moving the democrats to our progressive agenda. And the vote that, in my opinion, saved the country just as much as any other vote in US history, was shown to all that ONLY progressive, socialist democrats have the MEANS and the WHEREWITHAL to effect courageous, sustained change in our country today.

All this in less than one month. ONE FREAKIN' MONTH!!

I look forward to the next 95 months of the greatest presidency in the history of the US, and... perhaps... the ascension of the Greatest Human Being in World History... President Barack Obama!

2. Excellent Post!
I'm even more impressed because it's not like he walked into a peaceful and prosperous situation. Clinton left Bush in good shape and he mucked it all up. Obama has walked into a freaking mess!

3. Maybe he's just lucky...
Unless one faces immense difficulties, greatness cannot be achieved.

4. Reign in your preverbals…
Now don’t get me wrong I am impressed, but, the greatest president in history? After one month? I think this is a clam Obama himself will berate you for. There is no doubt his entries into the history books will be obsessively numerous, but he has someway to go before he takes that crown (from in my eyes Abe “yes I know he is a republican, but if he was alive today maybe he’d be democrat” Lincoln. And lest we forget, Obama didn’t so much “hit the ground running” more he hasn’t even hit it yet, so what of when he does? Is this not a case of only down hill?

Could be not become a war (albeit an economic one) president, this ‘crisis’ could take years to recover from, maybe Gov. Palin will be called the greatest president ever when she steals office from Obama because of election fraud and reaps the rewards of Obama’s labours?

All I am saying, is the more people post “he is the best president ever” after 4 minutes in office, and the higher people raise expectations, then the more he has to do to for fill them, meanwhile below the mason the RNC only has to remember their name and they pick up 100 collage votes

So, let’s wait, that’s all I’m saying.

I want to make it very clear, that I think what he has done so far is amazing, and I am very sure there is more to come.

5. Your point is well taken...
...but seriously: In less than 2% of his first term, he has already surpassed every modern republican president and half the democratic ones IN THEIR ENTIRE TERMS. But he is just warming up!

He has still to instill 40 progressive judges on the federal courts. In addition, he will not only meet, but create new benchmarks in global environmental policies that will severely restrict the dangerous profit motives from corporate piracy. He will transform the US from a unilateral, military first/ don't ask, don't tell questions later presence to one that leads the ways of TRUE peace. He will orchestrate the transfer of corrupt, republicanist private sector medical health insurance to a single payer system. He will essentially transform the country from a republicanist, capitalist cesspool of despair into a progressive, socialist vision of hope and attainment.

Hyperbole? Nope. Understatement? Perhaps! I stand by my exact meanin' in my OP.

9. Hyperbole WILL end the world...
I’m not saying, your wrong, just maybe overstating a little… there is, can be, will be, no doubt that this man is a force to be reckoned with, we will see some amazing things. Personally with ‘rhambow’ at his side a noble for reconciling middle east might be nice.

All the of the tings you mention, and those you didn’t, every reason we (ok, so I had to pay an American who wasn’t using there vote to vote for me :P) voted for him, in 4(8) years we want them to happen, but the economy will eat everything for years, and the partisan support removes his, “oh well lets just blame the hawks on the hill” cover, its all him now, and while your posts, and mine, wont win Pulitzers, and will probably never be read by more than 17 people with an extremely unhealthy interest in American politics I still think reservation is in order, because i dont want the times to quote you as the voice of the people along side a list of "couldn't quite afford's from the obama white house."

We won, we don’t need to gloat only to look like idiots when it turns out that actually there isn’t room in the budget what with all this job saving we’re doing to pay $240bn to fix health care.

That’s was maybe’s the most ‘commad’ paragraph in history, don’t know about Pulitzers I will be lucky to pass junior school with prose like that)

11. Double Take...
Edited on Sun Feb-15-09 07:32 PM by bendogood
I don’t believe I will get the fuck out, you see what i was doing was having a little fun at the republicans expense, I implied that she would only win with election fraud, when in fact she could fill out all 120,000,000 ballots herself and she still lose to a stuffed moose (that she shot!)

You see its creative writing, something I enjoy…but thank you for your well formed literary response, your helping to lower the “Ivey league tight ass” veiw of democrats the country over so thanks for doing your bit.

12. A few of us feel this way, it's not gonna bring down his presidency.
I remember presidents Johnson through Obama.

So far, he is the best.

And we all know that he has plenty of time to disappoint more than a few of us, but he's being pretty courageous, he's not Clinton II or DLC, and we like the way he has of taking it to the people without pretending that all republicans are evil and should be shunned.

Viva Obama!

14. A little exuberant, but a good post. I believe President Obama has what it
takes to be one of the greatest presidents ever, as long as he continues to play chess while they lose at playing checkers. Seriously, the hateful, racist, jealous repubs are determined to fight and undermine our President at every turn. In fact, they are downright disrespectful to him, and are always playing some stupid game. We must remain vigilant and very vocal.

Peace:thumbsup:

19. Poster appears to be a progressive who supports progressive action.....
"But my feelings for republican scumbucket slime shall wait for another column. Suffice to say that when Ms Hughes finished, Barack Obama was CLEARLY affected. His eyes glistened over, and even as he mentioned that help may take awhile, and that many people were in her situation, I knew that we had a real HUMAN BEING for a president. Nothing to get uneasy over apart from the fact that most usually don't straightfowardly communicate what they feel so strongly, as this poster apparently is.

To affix a label to this Op author behavior may do more of a diservice to the message than what he bothered to type.

Why must we discount extremely positive and complimentary posts, yet we take negative uncomplimentary posts so seriously?

20. I certainly hope the OP is correct.
I admit that I have been very pleased with what Obama has accomplished so far. The stimulus package is a bigger, better, and more progressive piece of legislation than anything that was ever passed during the eight years of the Clinton administration. Never forget that.

The United States is a LIBERAL Country.
