FOX News not happy with Obama’s press conference - LOL So funny, too bad Fox
Edited on Thu Feb-12-09 05:49 AM by EV_Ares
In the immortal words of the philosophical foursome Van Halen, “Change, ain’t nothin’ stays the same.”

And ain’t nothin’ stayin’ the same was on display last night at President Obama’s first prime time news conference. And this is upsetting FOX News Channel’s Bill Sammon.

Showcasing the left

The Deputy Managing Editor penned a column today criticizing President Obama for calling on a Huffington Post blogger, placing longtime Washington correspondent Helen Thomas back in the front row, and seating a liberal radio show host next to her.

link to sammons's article: http://www.foxnews.com/politics/first100days/2009/02/10/obama-appeals-liberal-media-prime-time-press-conference/

“Clearly, President Obama was making a point of showing deference to the Left,” Sammon writes.

Blogger

The fact that Obama took a question from a blogger is noteworthy. This hasn’t happened before.

What’s not noteworthy, though, is when a president doesn’t want to answer a question, he doesn’t have to. And he didn’t.

9. Yeah, you have a question in there?
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Christian_Science_Monitor

The Christian Science Monitor (CSM) is an international newspaper published daily, Monday through Friday. It was started in 1908 by Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of the Church of Christ, Scientist. As of March 31, 2008, the print circulation was 56,083.

The CSM is a newspaper that covers international and United States current events. The paper includes a daily religious feature on the "The Home Forum" page, but is not a platform for evangelizing.

...

Concept and inception

Despite its name, the Monitor was not established to be a religious-themed paper, nor does it promote the doctrine of its patron church. However, at its founder Eddy's request, a daily religious article has appeared in every issue of the Monitor. Eddy also required the inclusion of "Christian Science" in the paper's name, over initial opposition by some of her advisers who thought the religious reference might repel a secular audience.

...

Awards

The CSM has been the recipient of 7 Pulitzer prizes, the most recent in 2002.

17. CSM has the most amazing scientific articles on the web. And they
are written in a manner that everyone can understand. And that's saying something when it comes to science and new discoveries.

I love that site.

5. Yet another sign that the GOP doesn't get it
Obama didn't just call on the Huffington Post because they are liberal, he called on them because he's made a point through his whole campaign to embrace the internet and other venues other then the main stream media. It seems perfectly natural for him to call on an internet blog site. The Republicans just don't get the change, the are stuck in their old ways and thus will never see it coming when Obama kicks their ass yet again in 2012, no matter how much they try and "reinvent" themselves.

7. What a shame.
The "fair-haired kids" who, for so long, have had their own special pipeline to the presidency now must join the crowd. That totally bums me out. I'll be depressed all day.

15. How did Ed Schultz end up in the front row.
He's a talk show host, not a journalist.

At least it wasn't Oxy-Rush.

20. Oh Yeah
Olberman called him out on it a couple of nights ago, after Ari Fleischer said something about Bush never taking a question from an on-line reporter. Keith then cut to Bush doing just that. Priceless.
