Arlen Specter: "Republicans Swallowed a Big, Bitter Pill."
So did Henrietta. Tell HER about bitter pills, Arlen, you jackass.

I'm swallowing a big, bitter pill everytime I have to see and hear you and your fellow thugs spewing tripe and hypocritical b/s. "We didn't follow the charm and charisma of President Obama."

Screw you. Just damn you all to hell.

Now you're threatening to kill the bill if they try to put education back?

Your time is short. Enjoy the limelight while you can.

2. They already voted for it.
It is up to the conference committee to decide now. He really doesn't have much of a position to threaten to kill anything, now.

4. "They'll find themselves with no bill at all", I believe was his exact quote. No idea
what he was talking about. He and Collins were just on Hardball, looking morose and talking out their a***.

comes back with a lot of changes. Where the line is in their thinking I have no idea.

3. Um, Specter was one of 3 Republicans who voted for the stimulus.
FWIW, he also broke with the GOP to add $25 billion in infrastructure spending (which ultimately failed thanks to Landrieu).

5. These were his comments just now on Hardball. I'm aware he voted for it, so

why he is badmouthing Obama and the bill now just shows it is politics as usual.

8. Landrieu. She has always been a problem.
Edited on Tue Feb-10-09 05:17 PM by AndyA
I just can't stand her.

She voted for cloture on the Patriot Act II or some other hugely important bill, because she wanted to get on with other votes, like the Patriot Act wasn't a big clusterf*ck to the American people's rights and liberties.

10. What's up with landrieu?
Like New Orleans doesn't understand infrastructure?

Like the whole US couldn't use it?

12. She wanted an earmark...
...for funding for the Army Corps of Engineers, specifically for NOLA levees.

But this was a no earmark bill. So it seems she decided no infrastructure if not her infrastructure.

I understand her concern that the stimulus might represent the bulk of infrastructure for the year, particularly if the additional $25 billion got included, and it would look bad if she couldn't secure funding for the levees. But still, she should have prioritized the nation as a whole.

28. Tell her to bring it up with the Defense Appropriations Committee at budget time,
and then STFU. I have no doubt that the Army Corps of Engineers' budget will increase under President Obama with funding specifically dedicated for maintenance and upkeep of the NOLA levees.

They 'caused this crisis so I don't want to hear any whinging from them about Obama's ideas to solve it.

Of course, the corporatemediawhores will have the repukes pity party on in full blast.
