3. well, why do anything different than we've been doing for at least eight years.
i mean, they have worked so well. the rich are richer and the rest of us can go cheney ourselves. when there aren't many jobs, then people won't complain as much about getting paid more or benefits.

2. Obama promised tax cuts his entire campaign.
I don't get where this idea is coming from that it's something Obama didn't want.

5. I believe Obama's stimulus 'tax cuts' are principally in the form of a payroll tax holiday over

several months--altho don't know if this how it will shake out in the final bill. The amount would be $500 for individuals making less than $75,000 and $1,000 for couples earning below $150,000.

Much more stimulative than income 'tax cuts.'

I surfed around a bit on economy.com, but couldn't find it myself there. I'm just looking for the source material.

11. Two key differences in the President's tax cuts
1. They will not extend to the upper 5% of taxpayers, just as he promised.
2. They will be implemented as a reduction of payroll taxes, so that everyone that gets a paycheck benefits. Under Bush's tax cuts, they always ignored those working poor who didn't make enough to pay taxes (those who got all their money back when and if they filed because they didn't make enough to owe taxes). What a concept!

Further, the stimulus plan expands food stamps, unemployment benefits and children's health coverage.
