15. As some pointed last Friday, when we first oooed and aaaed
this is a composition of many photos put together and in some places you can see the merging of two faces, like a person two rows behind Carter, or Warren and Franklin, a few rows behind Cheney, and someone a few rows behind Thomas.

But he used 149 pictures from it. It was mounted on a tool/robot that makes sure that you get coverage of the area you want. But technically it can be done without it.
That it wasn't shot using a DSLR actually surprised me. It could have been even more detailed. But it might be mountable on the device.
More here from the guy who took it:

The process isn't really that difficult. If you have the pictures, the software does all the hard work. So much so that it seems like magic to me. Perspective correction, picture and color aligning all done for you.
Free tool; http://www.cs.ubc.ca/~mbrown/autostitch/autostitch.html
Better but not free: http://www.autopano.net/

I used it to stitch this one together from 9 pictures:
http://www.dabomb.dk/US08/DeathValley_DantesPoint_Panorama_03_Final_25p - (add .jpg to it. Its too big to include here)

And thats only 25% the size of the original.

Apparently only he and Obama had real chairs, everyone else had to make do with a folding chair! I'm assuming the dude in the white scarf is just sitting in Obama's chair temporarily.

Oops, Joe Biden and Senator Feinstein also got real chairs. Clinton and Poppy didn't.

23. Fun, isn't it?
Once we end up ooing and aahing over this photos, some start fishing for parts and pieces of people. And, of course, there is the goat tee of Warren attached to poor Aretha Franklin.
