... will mark exactly one week that former Senator Barack Obama was inaugurated President of the United States, and every time I think about it, it seems so surreal.
On Inauguration Day, I found myself somewhat awe struck because I still can not believe it (even after hearing the oath, and seeing the first dance, and seeing the Presidential parade).
DU'ers, I know that sometimes so many people can get caught up in emotion about this inauguration, but, as an African-American male that can only imagine the enormity of the task that President Obama has before him, I want to say, THANK YOU.
Two days after Inauguration Day, I found myself getting a suit tailored for an on campus interview that I have this upcoming week, and the clerk asked me, "Are you a reverand?"
I said, "No. I'm a law student."
He said, "Well, maybe you can be Chief Justice of the Supreme Court one day."
... and at that moment, I said, "Well, now anything's possible."
Thank you all for looking beyond the scare tactics.
Thank you all for standing up for righteousness and seeking brilliance and temperament before bullshit.
Thank you for allowing the chance of possibility.
For that, you are all to be saluted.
President Obama ... that never gets old.
