in the past few days, and that man likes to sing, or is faking it, and I don't think so. And dance, though seeing him sing was so sweet to me. And Michelle, his best buddy, right there with him. I like it!

He doesn't hold back, yet he doesn't over do it either.

Mostly I love it how he (and Michelle) look like they're having fun no matter what they're doing. Obama has the best smile of any politician, period, EVER. His gestures, his mannerisms, are absolutely perfect. The man is a natural. This country is going to fall in love with him just like we have, if they haven't already.

22. Been high praising Obama since 2004

except not much during the primaries when I picked Hillary because she entered the race first and I wasn't sure if Obama would enter at all at the time. Even during the primaries I rarely dissed him in the heat of the battle.

I can't believe you missed all my gushing over Obama, sis, maybe becuase I was singing the praises of the Goddess of Peace so much, hehe. It's always fun defending her on this board so it's not hard to understand why some people found it hard to believe that I could like both candidates so much. Anyway, I absolutely love the man, have for a long time, and I always knew he'd become President. Obama just blows me away.

Yes, music is wonderful. It's been a very important part of my life. My wife and I instilled the love of music into both of our kids, too, from an early age.

How nice that an appreciation of culture is once again back in the White House. Good times...

Just thinking of some recent ones...

Truman -- okay piano player.
Nixon -- so-so piano player.
Clinton -- okay saxophone player.

I think Jefferson was a good violinist.

Condi is an almost concert-level pianist.

yesterday? I don't know if he did, but it sure looked like it. Made me assume he'd been listening to music early that morning, but then again - he'd probably use earbuds, so who knows. But I couldn't stop noticing it...

Music is wonderful, there's nothing wrong with a president who understands that (which he clearly does). It isn't just a prop to use to gain affection or votes (think Huckabee - though that's not entirely fair, he probably enjoys music for selfless reasons too).

I love the fact that he likes music from Jay-z to Sinatra (though I'd be happier if it was Ella rather than Sinatra - who is pretty much my favorite singer, particularly of that era).

I think this is just another example of our growing fascination with a president we can finally look up to, respect, honor and want to do better in our own lives as a result.

We actually have a true hero to appreciate again - something we haven't really had in a long time, at least I can't think of one so widely known. Our heroes seem to have been more limited to certain issues, feats, accomplishments. I find this particularly important for children - who have our children been able to look to in the last few decades? This is someone who really fits the bill, in my opinion.

and I love Aretha, but Frank had some songs that just resonate. He was hot stuff for his generation, and still is.
