1. The parade that wouldn't die
I hate parades, so maybe I'm just prejudiced.

4. I didn't count that as part of the ceremony
But yeah, we watched about an hour of it, got a chair delivered, took the dog to the vet, went through TWO drive-through windows, came home, watched W's blathering... AND IT WAS STILL GOING.

That being said, watching the Leader of the Free World shoot the "Hang Loose" sign to Punahou was AWESOME. :D

2. Assuming Rick Warren is the worst...
John Roberts would have to be the second worst. Kind of surprised that so many thought the poem was worse than Roberts fucking up Barack's moment in history.

3. Da poem
Roberts was an epic "fail", but at least it was brief.

For all who liked that poetry reading, here is a poetry generator:

5. EPIC.
See, see the harrowed sky
Marvel at its big violet depths.
Tell me, Clay do you
Wonder why the mole rat ignores you?
Why its foobly stare
makes you feel knackered.
I can tell you, it is
Worried by your ventest facial growth
That looks like
A velveeta.
What's more, it knows
Your wenis potting shed
Smells of pea.
Everything under the big harrowed sky
Asks why, why do you even bother?
You only charm vomits.

:bounce:

8. Which one will be watched decades from now?
It ain't the poem. It's the swearing-in. Roberts fucked up a moment in history that people will be looking back at 20 years from now and laughing at Obama even though it wasn't his fault.

20. It doesn't reflect on Obama
Obama was the one who repeated a few words, then paused and calmly waited for Roberts to get it right. Like a good teacher.

Some new presidents might not have handled it so well.

7. Agreed. His *racialism* seemed kind of out of place yesterday.
And I use that form of the word b/c of the important distinction.

10. All of the religious stuff
I have no time for it. More power to those that do. Not telling them what to think. It just was my least favorite part of it.

14. Here:
We ask you to help us work for that day when black will not be asked to get in back,
when brown can stick around,
When yellow will be mellow,
when the red man can get ahead, man,
and when white will embrace what is right.
