Obama Enters Oval Office (statement from the White House)
Edited on Wed Jan-21-09 12:19 PM by catgirl
Post on Political Wire:

The White House released this statement:

"At 8:35 AM, the President arrived in the Oval Office and spent 10 minutes alone in the office. He read the note left to him by President Bush that was in an envelope marked 'To: #44, From: #43'. At 8:45 AM, White House Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel came in to discuss the schedule of today's events. The First Lady came into the Oval Office at 9:10 AM. We will release a picture shortly."

2. Why did that make me get misty eyed? It's so much
better to be involved and care about my President. What a great feeling!

4. Very cool...
Sounds like he got a somewhat decent night's sleep, or at least I hope he did. The media was saying he would have a 7:45 AM briefing from the Joint Chiefs of Staff. The President and First Lady had a really long day yesterday. I was very impressed with how much energy he still had by the end of the night when he was talking at the late-night Inaugural balls. They finished up around 1 AM and then had a private party in the White House with their closest friends. They were probably up until around 2 AM. Still not a very good night's sleep but 50 extra minutes compared to that 7:45 briefing is better than nothing. :)

5. FINALLY! A sane person in charge for a change!
The adults are back in charge.

Integrity has been restored to the White House.

Responsibility is an accepted fact.

Oh how long the last eight years have been!

Welcome home, sir! Now get to work!! :patriot:

6. Damn. The Term "White House" kind of threw me for a minute
For the next four years communications from the White House will be communications from Obama and his people.

This is going to take some getting used to.

9. I bet they both needed a lot of coffee this morning.
After all that celebrating yesterday, they're up early and ready to work. I love this family.

12. He enjoyed being there
He worked hard enough for it, let him enjoy a few minutes alone before he gets to work.
