Wow. Is this as big as I think it is? Obama halts ALL pending Bush regs until/unless they
are approved by him? Am I dreaming?

I'm not a political scholar but this seems HUGE. Is it?

"...no proposed or final regulation should be sent to the Office of Federal Register for publication unless and until it has been reviewed and approved by a department or agency head appointed or designated by the President after noon on January 20, 2009, or in the case of the Department of Defense, the Secretary of Defense."

2. It is huge...
But I feel it's a "damned if you do, damned if you don't" situation. I personally want him to follow through on this, I just don't know how he can do it properly without having potential terrorists being allowed to go free. I'm glad he's asking for 120 days. It gives him some time to come up with a plan.

3. I heartily approve.
It would have been insane to have done otherwise.

5. bush did the same thing in 2001 with Clinton's last minute regulations
although I recall know to what extent the bushies actually "reviewed" them or if they just threw them all in the trash

6. Even if routine, in this particular case it's huge
Because anything the Chimp was going to do was probably wrong or evil - the bastards easily saw that to mess was regulations was the easy path to autocracy (or Deciding, as the Decider so termed it).
