27. Indeed, it was his handle in the old days. I first posted to GodBush&Cheney.

Andy was so good and so vulnerable. He made us all ashamed that we didn't work harder to ensure that elections could be trusted in this country. His death was a shock to all of us that loved him. His idealism made me believe that we could actually do something, instead of sitting around decrying the corruption and lassitude.

His, Keph's and Nostamj's tenures were great days here at DU, and we all wax nostalgic just thinking about them. I hope Andy is proud of us and that all three of these great DUers look over our shoulders regularly.

...I never cried or laughed so much and I was proud to know you and your sweet gentle partner too. I thought of you yesterday like many others on here as I watched our legitimately elected president, Barak Hussein Obama, take his oath.

I also thought of you when Prop. 8 was passed in CA and thought about your partner, who loved you so much ~ enough to let you go around the country talking about voting with a paper ballot. He supported you even when you were dying and he knew that every minute you were away, was a minute lost with him. You both taught me so much about loving, courage and how to really live. I do not drink Andy, but for you, I lift a glass and hope you aresmiling down on us and knowing your work has gone far.
