I'm Having Dinner With A Semi Retired Fundamentalist Minister
Actually I'm providing dinner for him ,his wife, his daughter his daughter in law , and mother in law. He's a neat guy to be around but we never , never discuss politics or social issues. I'm a live and let live Christian. I don't even presume to judge anybody as flawed as I am. Interestingly enough "politics" did come up the last time we had dinner together. I mentioned that I enjoy listening to African American ministers because they are usually more evocative than their white counterparts. He said you "know our next president is African American. I said "um hum".The pastor is an intuitive man. I suspect he knows my "politics". He just said "I hope he does a good job."

When he does the prayer before dinner I am going to ask that he pray for the new administration, the nation, and my business which if it gets any worse I'll be selling apples. All I want is a honest day's wage for a honest day's work.

BTW- I just got a call from my "adopted" family. They are going to watch the inauguration at The Mall...

3. I'm Going To Boston Market And Getting A Turkey Dinner For Five
It will only set me back $30.00...

It's worth it. He baptized me, was there when I needed him, and did the funeral services for my dear mom and dad. In fact I hadn't seen him in thirty five or so years until September when he did the funeral service for my mom. To me Christ's most important admonition was "love thy neighbor as thyself". Everything else is commentary.

4. Boston Market is the best. When I'm having hot turkey or hot roast
beef sandwiches (open face) Boston Market gravy is sensational. Hope you have a wonderful time.

5. I'm Almost Out The Door
He's one of my few connections to my youth. As I said we never discuss politics or social issues but when it comes to being generous, helping others, just being a decent person he's okie dokie.

I bought

turkey

gravy

stuffing

macaroni and cheese

green beans

mixed vegetables

I'll have some turkey, green beans, and mixed vegetables. I'll let the others full up on the starches.
