Today feels so much like New Year's Eve to me...
Tomorrow is the start of a brand new year for all of us...

We're done wandering in the wilderness...

Time to take back being the adults in charge...

What a great day!

What a great country too...

Not saying we don't have big problems to fix.

We do.

But everything is possible now, with our administration there on our side instead of against us...

Come, take my hand...

Into the future for all of us...

44. Inauguration Day greetings to all the Freepers who read this thread!
Hi Freepers -

I saw that this thread is posted on your site so that bitter right-wing wackos can mock the nation's celebration of its exciting new president (and the blessed departure of its awful previous one). It's quite a picture: millions upon millions of cheering, jubilant citizens, with a few bitter old men standing off to the side stamping their feet and muttering about socialism.

You're out of step and out of touch, and now you're out of time. It's our day. Go ahead and mock this thread and this post on your little board, since it's all you can do. We Americans will be busy greeting the Dawning of a New Day. (Now I'm sure you'll mock this post!)

Cheers and a big Ha-Ha-Ha to you all,
mwb970

PS. Please, please keep posting crazy nonsense about The Communist Messiah, Obama's birth certificate, etc. on your site! With bush and his gang of fools gone, we will be depending on you more than ever before as a source of fresh right-wing idiocy. Keep it coming!

7. Sing it with me, my dear CaliforniaPeggy!
Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind?
Should auld acquaintance be forgot
And auld lang syne?

For auld lang syne, my dear,
For auld lang syne,
We'll take a cup o' kindness yet
For auld lang syne.

8. Someone just shook my hand in the grocery store!
Edited on Mon Jan-19-09 02:32 PM by Gregorian
:)

I am wearing my Obama sweatshirt. And the man stocking the bakery shelves looked at me and asked if I was going to watch the inauguration. There was a brilliance in our exchange. A relief. I said it felt as though we have been repressed. And how there is so much optimism among the American people that seems to have been bottled up. He gleamed and held out his hand in a gesture that said, yes this is the dawning of a new era. And we shook hands.

I actually started to cry. Haha.

my birthday, me and my longtime personal hero, Martin Luther King. What a day, what a day of reckoning. I love to be alive now, even after a lot of personal heartache and fear. I love ya, CP. I love all people today.

25. Me too..
And this is despite the fact I have misgivings about his CoS and a lot of his cabinet picks. I still feel a strange surge of hope. Totally weird.

Then again I had a dream that he worked for a month with the DLC dipshits and then demanded all of their resignations and replaced them for fighting him on healthcare. By doing this he knocked all of the DLC scum out of their various congressional seats and offices and then opened the door for progressive replacements.

Hope is not a strange thing...

It is a good thing, maybe the best of things...And no good thing ever dies...
