***FOR MY 1000TH POST: Thank you DU & BHO!***

Eight years ago, I came to DU in the aftermath of a nasty political battle, and watched with dread as * took the oath. I came to DU to find some solace and comfort amongst like-minded individuals. After a number of elections, both Presidential and Congressional, after disagreements and euphoric high-fives, after heart-felt posts and quick comments, after almost eight years to the day I joined DU, I've reached my 1000th post.

I want to use it to thank DU for being here and offering a place for me and others to vent, hope, cry and cheer, and also to thank President Barack Obama for helping me remember what it's like to have a President who cares.

Here's to the next 1000, and the next eight years :-)
