calling him an "empty suit" and shit like that. They know NOTHING about the man. That is why Obama has my support.

1. Not as many as you would think. They are the minority.
The bitter, hateful, dying minority.

3. They represent a vast majority where I live...
My co-workers all think he's an evil Muslim terrorist born in Kenya.

6. Yes it is...
and the sad thing is they are relatively smart and nice people in everything but politics. They seem to use common sense until it comes to politics, at which point they believe EVERY SINGLE piece of crap email that is sent to them from right wing sources.

But I've gotta eat so I simply do not talk to them about politics at all. It's not worth losing my job.

9. Sorry but they are neither nice nor smart if they believe that
because if they were smart, then they would listen to and absorb facts.

and if they were nice, they would not use lies to try to smear our next President.

Can't stand it when I read crap like this followed by a caveat telling the good parts about people like this.

Your co-workers are racist, jingoists. Period. And I don't find those types nice or smart. Ususally they are bitter, hateful, nasty, single-minded and ignorant.

any level. Probably, just about smart enough, though, to have voted for Obama in the secrecy of the voting booth.

It's interesting though, isn't it, that some DUers find the attitudes of such characters significant? There'll always be a percentage of dead-heads in any population. Get used to it, OP and like-minded posters. No need for the hand-wringing. I'm sure their opinion won't impinge on Obama's radar, or most other peoples. They're losers. End of story.

10. I believe it. I know some people from down there that think he's a joke.
You must have some newscasters or newspaper reporters who are flooding the area with bigot crap. These people are great, otherwise, but they are sure bigoted when it comes to Obama.

2. It's not just the garden-variety dittoheads and racists--
it's the Republicans in general. They know they're toast for the next 3 generations if Obama gets a chance to make his policies work.

5. Actually, it's not the repubs in general- not if the approval ratings
of 80% plus are true.

the sheep. To steal from my own Letter to the Editor, which I sent off this morning,

Watch for the Republicans to do everything possible to scuttle President Obama’s economic recovery programs—not because they fear Obama’s proposals won’t work or won’t help the average American, but because they know they will. As Ken Blackwell (candidate for Republican National Committee Chair) put it a few days ago when speaking of Obama's job creation plan, “One overlooked issue is that it could create a major electoral advantage for Democrats at taxpayer expense. That would be unacceptable for what is being touted as a nonpartisan measure, and gives Republicans yet another reason to oppose it.”

In other words, the Republicans not only realize that President Obama’s economic plans will work, but fear that the collective Republican political goose is cooked if he can implement those plans. As usual, we can count on the Republicans to put the interests of their party and of their rich friends above those of the country by obstructing and filibustering every progressive piece of legislation to come before them.

24. This is the truth
Obama holds the future of Conservatism in his hands. If implements his policies and improves the country then the conservative movement is over for a long while.

Does that mean that you wouldn't support him if everyone else supported him?

14. Looking at all the historical footage today..
of the civil rights movement of the 50's and 60's, MLK, the riots, the hoses, the nastiness.

The one thing I am happy about today is that if any of those racists and bigots are alive today in their nursing homes they are being forced to watch the inauguration coverage and realize their petty and hateful generation didn't succeed.

16. What has ever done other than write a speech?
Within a year after he was elected in the Senate, he was already forming plans to run for president. He doesn't have any significant legislative achievements.

His claim to fame is a speech he gave at the 2004 DNC. It's time to face the facts. However, He can change that perception really quick by shoving a single payer health care system down the Repuke's throats.

shall I suggest it to you?

You might be happier over there spouting off with this RW smear.
