Something just occured to me--could Colin Powell be...
...a source/conduit/leaker of the Bush/TANG stuff? I remember hearing just a few days ago on AAR (I believe it was Mike Malloy) someone reading from Powell's book "My American Journey". This was the quote:

""I am angry that so many of the sons of the powerful and well-placed... managed to wangle slots in Reserve and National Guard units...Of the many tragedies of Vietnam, this raw class discrimination strikes me as the most damaging to the ideal that all Americans are created equal and owe equal allegiance to their country."
-- My American Journey by Colin Powell, p. 148

There seems to be an almost palpable bitterness to the statement and it scores a direct hit on the slanderer-in-chief. Noting Powell's near-disappearance since May, his absolute silence on the Sh*t Boat Vets (as the only admin member to serve in 'Nam, you'd think Rove would be able to use a Powell statement to slam Kerry's post 'Nam stance--but instead...utter silence), his non-attendance at the repuglicon, and his odd (as an administration rep) statements of late (i.e. "we're not gonna find WMDs", "Kerry would fight terror in a robust manner"), I can't help but wonder if he's in a limbo state. Off the reservation in mindset, but unfirable by Rove at this time as it would indicate deep trouble in paradise near an election. Rather's known admiration/friendship with Powell also intrigues me insofar as Dan's "positivity" of the documents' provenance.

I dunno...it just sorta hit me affter reading the "robust war" statement he made about Kerry--it's so off the administration message that it's 180 degrees opposite.

I wonder...hmmmmm........

2. Powell seems like an upright man caught in a corrupt scene
I pity the dilemma he must face:

resign, and vacate a position of power so it can be filled by the more-corrupt /
stay, and remain a cog in the machine of tyranny.

5. He's not that upright
He was involved in the My Lai coverup. He is, however, an extremely loyal man who would not desert his leader.

6. Powell sat at the UN and LIED for Bushco
there is nothing upright about this guy.

His son is the head of the FCC, trying to let corporations destroy our already not-so-free press.

The man is bad news, plain and simple

3. Doubtful, given Colin's comments on George Snuffalupagus's show
He equated Junior's "service" with Kerry's as if they were the same thing. Which is about 180 degrees from what he said in the book.

4. He sure isn't keeping his mouth shut. I think he's letting the cat out of
the bag because he is leaving.
