Anyone else found themselves completely Obama obsessed today?
Edited on Sat Jan-17-09 09:34 PM by JeffreyWilliamson
I've been glued to the whistle stop speeches.

I watched the YouTube clips of people cheering at smaller locations as the train rushed through.

Then I pulled up videos of people cheering every time he drives past in a car, or surprises people by showing up at a restaurant.

I took a tour of the conservative forums and laughed my tail off watching their heads explode over every thing he does.

I just topped it off with a dose of election night pictures and articles from overseas.

It's been a non-stop Obama Saturday at my house.

Must...put..down keyboard...and go....to grocery store...

1. Uh oh
You used the name "Obama" next to the word "obsessed".

10. I'm train obsessed - watched cnn video out the window of his train
very moving, all the people stainding out in the cold, all bundled up. Holding children, signs, waving. Very touching.

Then to top it off, I watched the Arlo Guthrie video of "New Orleans."

Whew, I'm starting to exhale!

Um, yeah. But just today. There's nothing wrong with me. I haven't been pulling up election night videos, searching YouTube for good Obama clips or flipping channels to get better views or anything like that.

Which is about WH children. And of course, it must be updated!

The chapters on the * girls might be a bit sleazy, though!

20. I'm limiting my online time today because I'm getting NOTHING done lately
Either my antibiotics just kicked in or today is the day that feels the most like Nov. 4th. I confess to getting pretty cynical with all the fighting on this forum lately and I keep saying.."step away from the keyboard". But today feel REAL good.

Hope you're doing well in Galveston and I still think of the kitties that were still there after the storm. HAPPY INAUGURATION! Wow, that feels so weird to say after these 8 long years.

23. Those kitties actually stayed for quite a while after the storm...
Then one day I went out to feed them and they had packed up and left. I still check under the house every now and then.

Shortly after that we rescued two puppy refugees that were roaming the streets. We named them Jack and Gwen, (TV show reference--bonus points for anyone who can name the show). They got to come inside and destroy everything I own.

I found really nice homes for both of them, but not before they destroyed mine, unfortunately.

25. So glad to hear about the animals!
Torchwood! I cheated. Sorry, couldn't resist. All my friends have animals named after Twin Peaks characters...like my friend's cats Truman and Cooper.

Thanks, for the update. Notice how I've successfully limited my time online this evening? I suck at self control.:eyes:

27. Well....short answer. Twin Peaks was on in 1990
A two season TV series that I heard about ad nauseum while it was on, but never watched it. But, when it came out on Video in 1993 my friends found it and turned me onto it.

It's 29 episodes created by David Lynch/Mark Frost and some of the strangest and most wonderful viewing you can imagine. I cannot fathom how it was allowed to be on TV in 90 as it is waaayyy out there. I've exposed students/friends to it and every one of them is addicted by the end of the pilot episode. There are massive amounts of Twin Peak web sites for fans in every language possible.

Still an annual Twin Peak's Festival in the State of Washington. So, if you ever get bored and you like a murder mystery that's sexy, super funny with a supernatural/mystical sci-fi twist....go out and rent it. My group has viewed it more than twenty times and we find something new every time. A million twists and turns....and WTF? moments. The online debates about "what did that really mean" are vast. There are homages to old films and their characters, black ops govt. programs...a little of everything.
Every prop, every number inserted into a scene has a significance. Just don't cheat and accidentally find out "Who Killed Laura Palmer" if you google any info. Believe me, it's worth it just to let it unfold. Hey, where else are you going to see a dwarf dancing in a red suit speaking backward?

Hope you check it out. Looks like I need to see Torchwood by descript I just read. Thanks. I..must...leave...keyboard.:hi:

24. a bit obsessed today....
and it is, IMHO, a once in a lifetime event...
so being excited and full of positive energy
seems a natural reaction to something I worked for
and hoped for, and watched happen before my very eyes.

Can't wait to see the next step in the process!

30. Absolutely!
Went to my little corner neighborhood hillbilly cafe (which has wi-fi -- dialup only at my house & no TV :( ) and feasted on train photos, US Airways 1549 rescue, anything we could watch before a table came in behind us and we thought be better leave, lest they think us absolutely looney! But I knew YOU would understand! :)
