Americans thought Bush's 2005 inauguration was too expensive

Some are criticizing the fact that Obama's inauguration might be very expensive, but they aren't saying is that in 2004 2/3 of Americans saw Bush's $40 million inauguration as too large.
respondents in this Washington Post-ABC Poll were asked:

Officials say Bush's inauguration ceremonies next week will cost about 40 million dollars, nearly all of it coming from private donations. Some people say that because the country is at war, it would be better to have a smaller and more subdued inauguration. Others favor continuing the country?s tradition of large inaugural celebrations. Which of these views comes closer to your own?

Their answers:

Better to have smaller, more subdued inauguration: 66% (86% of Dems, 46% of Reps, 68% of Indies).
Continue tradition of large inaugural celebrations: 32% (18% of Dems, 52% of Reps, 30% of Indies).
