Gov. Paterson to Re-Interview Senate Candidates
http://www.newsday.com/iphone/ny-stpate0117,0,1717366.story?track=rss

Excerpt:
"I'm having new thinking about who I'm intending to appoint and am having a few follow-up conversations with some of those people who have put themselves forward as potential candidates," he said at a Manhattan news conference about a banking settlement.

Paterson also confirmed he wouldn't be making an announcement of his Senate pick until after the Jan. 20 presidential inauguration.

The news seemed to boost the hope of U.S. Rep. Carolyn Maloney (D-Manhattan and Queens) who tried on Friday to inject a blue-collar image into the star-powered field of contenders led by Caroline Kennedy and Attorney General Andrew Cuomo.

It looks like this offers some hope for Carolyn Maloney as a candidate. I just hope that Paterson does not create a Blago-like circus with his Senate selection.

4. Okay, so I'm not a governor,
but it doesn't seem as though it ought to be this hard to select one of the highly qualified candidates for the seat.
