Kelley: "I wish you could see the stuff that's on the cutting room floor"

http://www.salon.com/books/int/2004/09/14/kelley/index.html

On the Bush's desire for "payback"...

Salon: "And you believe the Bushes are capable of doing something like that -- of threatening a woman who is shooting her mouth off like that? You think the family really operates that way?"

Kelley: "I know the family operates that way. I wish you could see the stuff that's on the cutting room floor, that got left out of the book. There are other people who will tell you stories like that, but they won't go on the record. And you can't blame them. And I don't know how to convince them, that it's history, that it's important. Because I can't in good conscience tell them that. But I do feel comfortable with that story. I'm surprised by the number of people who did go on the record."

Salon: What do you think W. will do if he loses in November? Will he happily go back to baseball?

Kelley: No. You know something that I have found out from this family after four years -- he doesn't plan to lose. They know how to win -- no matter what.

Salon: What does that mean?

Kelley: That means these people can put the Sopranos to shame.

1. Godfather Bush!
LOL!!!

A few weeks ago I said the way the Bush adminstration operates is just like the mob. Nice to know I'm not alone in that characterization. :)

13. Fredo was a much nicer person than *.
He may have been an inept coward but he cared about people. While he was a failure at everything, he meant well. None of these virtues applies to *.

4. My thoughts exactly.
Remember in F 9/11 Dim son was doing an interview on an airplane & they asked about Florida. "Oh I'll win in Florida, no doubt" or words to that effect. You just knew that they already had the fix for Florida in & he knew about it.

Evil, evil, evil. This family is evil & the folks who don't see it deserve what they get. Unfortunately, the rest of us don't deserve it.

3. But if they know how to win
I wonder why they didn't find a way to sabotage Clinton's victory in 1992.

5. Because they didn't expect it - it came out of the blue
and Perot took some of their base.

I used to think that Perot was crazy complaining about Bush I monkeying around with his daughter's wedding, but I am less sure now.

15. I think
..It was a little obvious to me that poppy didn't really try in 92. I think they needed to regroup, maybe set one of the boys up as a Governor, and steal the 2000 election. Then 9 months later...well, you know the rest.

8. That is why they continue to put out that * is ahead in the polls
so that when they steal the election on Nov 2, they will be able to say * was ahead along, not big deal, no stolen election!

14. "They know how to win" -- that has the ring of truth...
and is what nags at the back of my mind, forcing me to keep it back there, so I can go on, have hope, and work for success. With this now today, the Florida abuse of power, Matt Lauer, Wash Post on the Guard docs, some newly bad polls -- I'm actually feeling ill right now, with a sense of real foreboding. I don't want what might be coming for my kids and their kids. Oh, God -- starting to cry. Sorry to be a downer -- I'll snap out of it soon. I always do -- it's a roller coaster, this campaign.

These people truly are evil, aren't they? They are evil through and through. And the only pleasure I can see they derive from the power and money they've dedicated their lives to, is the satisfaction of what they perceive as their own superiority.

20. Hang in there DMM, I've been feeling the same dread as
more and more is revealed. Frankly, without knowing all the particulars, I had a sense about this lunatic family from the start. Knowing what I know now just makes me the more freaked out.

I honestly do not think it is impossible to defeat these crooks...I only believe it is a tough task....whether it is this time or, god forbid, during another election period.

Either way, there are many of us here and around the world who can come to each other's aid and support. You are not alone; we're all, each one, in this thing together............
We are shook up because of what we realize/know. If we have to go through some hell it will be worth it to finally stamp out this menace!

This neo con cabal can't go on forever if we STICK TOGETHER.

21. Thanks so much, Sugarbleus --
I'm sure others who read your words will be comforted also. You're right, there are so many people, so united, for what I'm convinced is goodness and decency -- and I truly believe that if we can ever get past all this that the future will be in the hands of a promising new generation, of diverse groups finally getting their chance to break through to the top, of even more women in positions of leadership, and that that future will be a better one.

19. Kerry is promoting honest elections, if there is any scrutiny this time
then around the world other countries will know that if America can't even hold honest elections, how the hell can we promote democracy? This is not going to happen again. Bush WILL and IS doing everything he can, like Nixon desperation, but evil will not prevail, not this time.

I think the statement is, John Kerry will NOT lose, he's a fighter, a REAL fighter!

23. Yes...evil in the end will NOT prevail.
And I saw a quote by Ghandi the other day which is so true:

"When I despair, I remember all through history the way of truth and love has always won. There have been tyrants and murderers, and for a time they seem invincible. But in the end, they always fall; think about it -- ALWAYS."

24. Excellent quote. Ghandi should know! I believe that too, the world
may be upside down since Bush stole an election, but the one thing Bush did do was wake up democracy. Because all Americans were just going about their lives, oblivious to the world outside our borders. We didn't bother with genocide going on in other countries, we didn't care how much we consumed, we were all happy with the latest Xbox coming out. But now, we are awake and we want peace and justice. America will do the right thing, Bush will be gone, but I just think he'll go down like the devil, it won't be pretty.
