The October Surprise IS coming. Do Dems deserve to lose?
Bin Laden is boxed in and troops are--"WAITING FOR THE ORDER TO" get him.

Most tellingly, the chimp shills are absolutely silent.

Dems are faced with a choice: They can do what they're doing now, which is to grab their ankles and wait or they can sow seeds of doubt about the timing to mitigate the impact. The ONLY way we can win this election if Bin Laden is found is to point out what ithe capture would be: an October surprise.

3. 100 square miles is "boxed in"?
I thought the Pakistanis already refuted a lot of those over the last two weeks.

4. this would be so transparently political now it would backfire
talk about a forgery! This would be the biggest fraud EVER!
One could also lay the deaths of Spain on March 11 at the feet of Bush, since his calculated delay cost yet more lives.

19. 3 years ago, not NOW. 3 long years ago.
What was wrong with getting him 3 years ago if we could?
Bush is the worst leader of our armed forces EVER! He sucks! And our troops pay for his incompetence.

7. Do you actually think enough people in this country
will realize how transparent this is? Do you really think they will be offended at Bush's deliberate delay to capture bin Laden?

Of course they won't!

Scramble to stage a MAJOR attack ASAP? Just to show us they're still busy?

11. I think it COULD
backfire, but only if the information about him being "boxed in" gets out to the general public. Most people don't know this and won't go looking for it.

16. Cool.. So why not help that conclusion along? And maybe even
score some points if the story is false--"why is the US ambassador to the UK spreading lies?" That's who the source is, obviously--A senior US offical in London "intimate" with the Bush family. Who ELSE could it be?

29. I want to believe this, but
it seems the Bush administration has no shame and no qualms about the obviousness of any of their moves, and, sadly, they seem to get away with it all. With the media carrying their water, they can frame their message on this enough to rile up their base plus other gullibles.

8. I agree
someone has to start talking about this now and asking why October (as if we did not know) when he could have been captured by now.

10. We've heard a lot of this talk ever since 9/11
I can't tell you how many times I have read that Bin Laden was cornered.

It may be true this time, but there is little reason to believe that it is more true now than it has been in the past.

I'm not saying this isn't true, but how many times have we heard that bin Laden is "boxed in"? And isn't 100 miles a pretty large area?

27. I have seen "reputable" American papers
directly quote unnamed "counter-terrorism" officials saying such things.

He has been "cornered" at least once a month even since before we invaded Afghanistan.

You may be right, this may be the report with veracity, the one that's gonna do it.

On the other hand, Osama may be sipping vodka gimlets in the Lincoln Bedroom, waiting for the show-trial of one of his look-alikes which will end in a mock execution.

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&lr=&ie=UTF-8&q=%22bin+laden%22+cornered

shows how Bin Laden has been "cornered" before, most spectacularly last February, it seems, according to an unnamed US Intelligence official.

15. I don't think finding Bin Laden 3 years after 9/11 clinches the election
as long as Dems keep hammering Bushco on all of his failures and how long it took to get Bin Laden. Plus, several in the media have recently debunked the importance of catching him by pointing out that he has been confined to an isolated area for a long time while others in the organization have taken over power.

17. The Republicans Might Have a Different Surprise in Mind
Just your post alone, supported by stories that don't truly support the premise, is what the Repukes hope to stir up in October. They don't NEED to catch Bin-Laden necessarily. All they need to do is to convince the American people that Bib-Laden is surrounded and will be captured very soon. Just the anticipation of that capture will make people hold their breaths.

This is a Rove-play. He WANTS people to feel as though Bin-Laden's days are numbered...This may be an October surprise that is actually in reach of the admin. So we must always be skeptical. Don't play into Rove's mind game.

100 sq. miles in the region they are talking about is incredibly rough terrain. To say that capture is immanent is a little premature.

22. Great. Then we should redouble our efforts.
"Go get him, or deny the story!!" "Go get him or deny the story!!"

We win either way if your speculation about Rove's intent is correct.
